L'Oreal La Palette Nude 1 Review and Swatches

The L'oreal La Palette Nude 1 and 2 ($15.84, Walmart) are brand new for Spring 2015, and you have no idea how relieved I am that I finally found them...that means I can stop looking at the empty displays in every drugstore I go in! They've been teasing us for a few months with "coming soon" displays in CVS, Walgreens and Walmart, but I actually spotted it first on Walmart.com.  I went to the two Walmart stores nearest my house and it wasn't there, so I used the tool on their website to find out which Walmart stores were carrying this and I found a store about 35 minutes away that had both Nude 1 and Nude 2.  So exciting!!
Anyway, I had very high hopes for this palette because L'oreal owns Urban Decay, and of course it's easy to compare these to the Naked palettes.  I'll compare this palette to the Naked 2 a little further down in this post, but first I wanted to talk about this palette on it's own.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation Review

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation ($7, Walmart) is a brand new release for Spring 2015 and when I saw it, I was so excited because it's something I've been hoping they would create for a long time!  You've no doubt heard about their Glamoflauge Concealer...it has a cult following and many people feel that it's a dupe for Kat Von D's Tattoo Concealer, so I can imagine that a lot of people are going to be psyched about this new foundation.  Let's take a look!
The Claims:
"Invisible Camouflage Foundation. A transforming liquid to powder foundation that absorbs oil, camouflages imperfections, and delivers a long lasting velvet finish. This skin perfecting fluid contains superfine pigments for seamless full coverage without looking caked on. Infused with kaolin clay for exceptional wear and oil absorption. Skin retains natural moisture for 12 hours of flawless perfection and transfer resistance. Pairs perfectly with our Glamoflauge concealers for extra covering power."

Milani Fierce Foil Lip Gloss Review and Swatches

Last week, I spotted the new Milani Fierce Foil Lip Glosses at CVS ($6.49) and they were BOGO 50% off...so I picked up a few to try.  I'm sad to say I wasn't a fan of their Fierce Foil Eyeshine palettes, but these lip glosses looked too pretty to pass up!
They come in 6 shades, all named after places in Italy. Here's the photo I took at CVS and shared on Instagram last week...right away, I noticed that the burgundy shade the model is wearing (03 Florence) is much less glittery than the rest of the shades. Still, I'm not really a fan of dark lip colors on me, so I chose Rome, a light pink and Capri, a gorgeous violet mauve.

Hard Candy Glow All The Way Ombre Baked Blush Review and Swatches

Hard Candy Glow All The Way Ombre Baked Blush ($7) is a new edition to the line for Spring 2015 and I was really excited to get my hands on these ever since I saw a sneak peek on Hard Candy's Instagram page last month. It comes in 2 shades...Punch and Sunburst (which is the one I bought).  Let's take a look!

This blush comes in a round silver and white compact with no mirror and a see-through lid.  The product itself is so pretty, why hide it?  I love that it's on display.

Hard Candy Fierce Effects Daring Argan Oil Lip Gloss Review and Swatches

A few days ago, I blew up my own Instagram feed while I was at Walmart posting a ton photos all of the new Hard Candy Spring 2015 products that had just hit the shelves.
The Fierce Effects Daring Argan Oil Lip Glosses, $5 were one item I've been getting a lot of requests for to see swatches, especially the bright blue shade, Skyfall. These glosses aren't on the Hard Candy or Walmart sites yet so I don't have any information about the claims or even a description. So this is going to be more of a first impression post, where I'll just talk about my experience with them so far.
Black Rose, Skyfall, Knockout Punch, Make Me Blush

The display at Walmart had 12 shades in total...8 of them were described as "intense" while the other 4 were "sheer". I purchased 3 Intense shades, Make Me Blush (Peachy pink), Knockout Punch (a rosy berry shade), Skyfall (bright blue) and 1 sheer shade, Black Rose (sheer black with rosy tones).

J. Cat Liptitude Hydrating Stain Coming Soon

J. Cat Beauty just posted a little teaser to their Instagram page today about a new lip product they'll be releasing soon (follow them to get updates as to when). It's called Liptitude and claims to be a 24/7 Hydrating Stain!

From @jcatbeauty on Instagram

I keep wishing that someone would come out with a truly hydrating lip stain...maybe this will be it! I'm a fan of their Wonder Lip Paints, so I have high hopes for these.
What do you think? Interested to try them?

Tons of NEW Hard Candy Products Spotted at Walmart!

I ventured into Walmart today which is something I try not to do very often, and to my surprise, there were a ton of new Hard Candy products! Let's take a look...

There are new Eyeshadow Palettes ($8) in cute tins that also contain an mini eye primer and mini eyeliner. There's a Natural, Sassy, and Smokey version.
Here's what they look like inside (sorry about the crappy photos...I couldn't get away from the light glare):
Natural Eyes

Sassy Eyes

Smokey Eyes
Next, I saw two new concealer products...Sheer Envy Eye Brightening Concealer Pen and Conceal and Correct Palettes.
The Sheer Envy Eye Brightening Concealer Pens ($6) claim to have 10 beauty benefits in 1- Reduce Puffiness, Diffuse Shadows, Soften Wrinkles, Even Skintone, Eliminate Dark Circles, Blur Lines, Brighten, Conceal, Correct, and Lift.  Wow..pretty lofty claims!  This seems like it could potentially be a dupe for YSL Touche Eclat.  I purchased it in the Radiance shade, so stay tuned for my review!
The Sheer Envy Conceal and Corrector Palettes come in two shades, Light Medium and Medium Tan.  They contain three correcting shades, yellow, green and purple, and then three concealers to mix and match.

The Eyes The Limit Eye Shadow Primers ($5) look really cool...one is a Smokey primer that turns any eyeshadow into a smokey shade.  The Shimmer version turns eyeshadow into a shimmery shade. I purchased both, so I'll be doing a review after I test them out a bit.

Next, they had a new section called Fast and Fabulous Set Your Makeup and there were 4 new products included in it that are long wearing...

There's a setting spray that claims to set makeup all day & night, as well as a Translucent Finishing Powder to control oil.

There's also a longwear 12 Hour Primer and a clear mascara topcoat that makes any mascara waterproof!

Glamoflauge Foundation!!  I know a lot of people who are obsessed with the Glamoflauge concealers, so this was really exciting to see. It comes in 8 shades and clams to have invisible coverage in an oil free formula ($7).

Also new to the Glamoflauge line is Glamoflauge Lite blendable concealer duo sticks. I'm guessing like the name suggests that this offers lighter coverage than the original full-coverage Glamoflauge in the tube.

Finally, I spotted Fierce Effects Argan Oil Lip Gloss ($5).  It comes in 12 shades, 8 with Intense Color and 4 with Sheer Color.  There are some really interesting shades here, including a bright blue, navy blue and black!

Here's a slightly closer shot so you can see the names of the shades (click on the photo to enlarge):

About a month ago, I had heard about new Ombre blushes that Hard Candy was going to be releasing and I didn't see them today but a few people I know on Instagram found them at their Walmart, so I'll have to go back and check.
Which of these new products are on your list to try?  Or have you tried some of them already?

NYC Expert Last Lip Lacquer Swatches and Review

NYC Expert Last Lip Lacquer ($4.19 CVS) is a new release for Spring 2015 and claims to deliver intense color in a lightweight, glossy formula. I purchased 8 out of the 12 shades to try since CVS had them BOGO 50% off a few weeks ago...let's take a look!
The Expert Last Lip Lacquer line offers a nice selection of shades from nudes to pinks, berries and reds. They're packaged in lightweight plastic tubes that look nice and simple...they're a little cheap feeling but that doesn't bother me because the price is great and I'd rather have a superior product inside the tube than have fancy packaging. I also like that the entire tube except for the cap is clear and you have a large area to see the color inside.
They come with a standard doe foot applicator...I wish it was one of the bigger, flatter ones that some other brands have, because it would reduce the number of times I have to dip the wand back in to get more product. With these, the color seemed to be mainly just on the tip when I pulled it out of the tube so it took 3 or 4 dips into the tube to cover my lips well.

New Maybelline Spring 2015 Color Tattoo Swatches Black Orchid, Hydrangea Hype, Rose Riot

Last week I posted some swatches of two new Maybelline Color Tattoo shades that were released for Spring 2015 (see them here) Petunia Punk and Hibiscus Heartbreak, but then I started hearing around the internet that there were three additional shades being released.  Some people told me that they found all five shades in a display at Walgreens and Duane Reade called "Girls Night Out", while others said they saw them at CVS in a different display.
None of the Walgreens in my area had the Girls Night Out display...in fact, they didn't have any new Color Tattoos at all! I picked up the first two at Harmon's last week, and then I started checking all of the Walgreens and CVS stores in my area.  Of course, the very last CVS I checked had them and I almost missed them completely because they weren't part of a display! They were sitting on top of another Maybelline display that had the Lash Sensational mascara and Color Molten eyeshadows in it...a sales associate must have just stuck them there because they didn't have a home. There were only 2 of each shade and these are limited edition, so I have a feeling they are going to be very hard to find.

Maybelline Master Matte Blush Stick Review and Swatches

Maybelline Master Matte Blush Sticks are a Limited Edition for Spring 2015 (boo...please make them permanent!). I spotted these at CVS and what's funny is, they were on the display with the new Spring Color Elixir shades and I just walked right by them thinking that they were the Master Glaze blushes from last year.  I did this during two visits and I don't know what made me look at them the next time I went, but I noticed that the word Glaze on the tube is replaced by the word Matte and I went "oh, wait a minute...these are new!".
They're $9.49 each and come in 4 shades.  I wasn't ready to spend $40 on blush, but I had printed a coupon out of the little Extra Care kiosk for $5 off a $15 Maybelline purchase, so I picked up three of them (I left behind a bright orange shade called Fiery Flora- you can see the color on my Instagram page).  When I got to the register, I found out that these were BOGO 50% off so between that and the $5 coupon, I picked up these three for just under $20.
Golden Thorn, Flushed Up, Rosy Rush
These are identical packaging-wise to the Master Glaze...the only difference is the formula.  The originals leave a dewy sheen on the cheeks while the Mattes don't have any shimmer or pearly finish whatsoever. They have the same creamy, blendable feel and are actually much more pigmented than the Master Glazes.

Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick Swatches and Review

I just got my hands on four of the brand new Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipsticks ($22, Sephora) and I am crazy about these already! These are a sheerer version of the original Revolution Lipstick, but they're not as sheer as you would think.  They still have quite a bit of pigmentation, but they're a bit softer and more casual...the perfect compliment to their Naked products!  Let's take a look...
I chose four shades I thought I would be most likely to wear:

Liar- Sheer Pinky-Brown Nude
Rapture- Sheer Dusty Rose
Ladyflower- Sheer Rose Pink
Streak- Sheer Coral Pink
The tubes are very similar to the original Revolution lipsticks, except they're metallic purple.  They're nice and heavyweight and feel very luxurious and high-end.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Spring 2015 Shades

Maybelline has released two new Color Tattoo shades as part of their new Rebel Bloom collection for Spring 2015. Let's have a look!
There are apparently three new shades but all of the displays I've seen only had two...Petunia Punk and Hibiscus Heartbreak.
Petunia Punk is a light frosty pink that looks almost white when swatched.

NYC Cosmetics City Proof 24HR Eye Shadow Spotted at CVS

I just spotted the new NYC Cosmetics City Proof 24HR Eye Shadows at CVS ($3.19 each) and right now they're BOGO 50% off!  These claim to be Vibrant, Waterproof Color and they come in 10 shades. There's also a primer (far left) that will help to make them even more vibrant and long-lasting.  Let's take a closer look at the shades...

Primer, Wall Street Bronze, Brooklyn Mocha, Tribeca Taupe, 5th Ave Gold Rush

5th Ave Gold Rush, Murray Hill Champagne, Rockefeller Center Snowflakes (x2)

Empire State Building, New York at Night, Central Park Tulips, East River Romance.
I can't wait to try these! I love cream shadows (like Maybelline Color Tattoo) but when they're in a chubby stick, they're so easy to apply especially on the go!
Grab these now while they're on sale!

NYX Cosmetics Prismatic Eyeshadow Swatches

NYX Prismatic Eyeshadows are brand new for Spring 2015 and I found them at Ulta.com for $6 each. I'm a huge NYX fan but in the past their eyeshadows haven't impressed me all that much...well, these have changed all that!  Let's take a look...
There are 12 shades in all, and I picked up four of them to try.  I don't have an Ulta near me, so I ordered them online and unfortunately, one came broken...bummer because it's a beautiful shade!
Top Row: Frostbite, Smoke & Mirrors
Bottom Row: Liquid Gold, Bedroom Eyes
These come packaged in cute little silver and black pots and the clasp is a little silver bow.  It gives it that little bit of a girly touch without going crazy with pink or purple packaging...they're keeping it sleek and simple. They also have a hinge opening, similar to their other eyeshadows, which I prefer to a cap that comes off all the way.

These are probably some of the softest eyeshadows I've ever touched...you can actually see how soft they are in the close-ups below...they almost look fuzzy! To me, they kind of look like loose eyeshadow that was loosely pressed together. The only downside to them being this soft is that it makes them prone to breakage (as you saw in my situation) so you have to be really careful with them.

Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

Tarte's new Tartelette Palette ($44, Sephora) is a brand new matte eyeshadow palette for Spring 2015 and I'm so happy that I finally got my hands on one! Let's take a look...
First of all, can we talk about the packaging? Purple and shiny gold...gorgeousness! It's about the thickness of a CD case but a little smaller lengthwise. It has a full sized mirror on the inside lid, which is great if you're using this on the go, and the case feels very sturdy overall and snaps closed tightly. It's sleek, yet feminine and pretty- I love it!
It came with a card that has detailed instructions on how to create a Day Time look and a Play Time look using the shades in the pallette. I followed the Day Time look and it was easy to create and looked really good!

Wet N Wild Fergie Centerstage Photo Focus Eyeshadow Palette Camouflage Couture Review and Swatches

The Spring 2015 Wet N Wild Fergie Centerstage collection has really wowed me so far, from the amazingly pigmented 10-shade Photo Focus palette, to the Nars-style Around the Clock blushes, and the fabulous Come Correct Celebrity Concealer, so I wanted to grab as many of the new releases as I could because they've been really hard to find.
I've been looking for the 5-shadow Photo Focus palette in Camouflage Couture for a few weeks now, and finally one of the Walgreens near me started stocking it (in the Wet N Wild section with the other Photo Focus palettes, not in the front with the new stuff so I almost missed it). It contains gorgeous green shades with one gold shade in the center.  Let's take a look!
This palette claims to have intensely-pigmented eyeshadows that are jet-milled and are supposed to deliver all-day crease-resistant wear. This collection contains two shimmers, two mattes and one glittery shade in the center.
The compact is the same as the original 5-color Photo Focus palettes...black with a window on top, no mirror and a small sponge-tipped applicator.

NYX Intense Butter Gloss Review and Swatches

NYX Intense Butter Gloss ($5.99 at Ulta) is a new Spring 2015 release and it's a pumped-up version of their original butter gloss with tons more pigmentation!  I got mine at Ulta.com and right now, they're having a BOGO 50% off on these, so if you're interested, you may want to pick these up before they sell out (which NYX products tend to do). I picked up four of the twelve available shades to try and I tried to get a range of tones.
Tres Leches, Sorbet, Napoleon, Funnel Delight
This is one swipe of the applicator!  These have a liquid lipstick-like intensity, but with the same Butter Gloss feel and shine you know and love! They also have the same sweet vanilla-like flavor.
Tres Leches, Sorbet, Napoleon, Funnel Delight
The applicator is a long flat style that makes application easy and quick because it covers a large surface area.

Hourglass Modernist Palette Review and Swatches

Recently I was in Sephora and spotted the beautiful Hourglass Modernist Palettes ($58) on the front table where they set out all the new products. There are actually 7 versions of this palette so it was really hard to choose just one (Lord knows I can't afford any more than that!). I ended up going with Infinity, which is described as "warm neutrals".
The palette case is really sleek and modern, with a deep, dark bronze color and mirrored finish. It's not too large, about the size of an iPhone so it's perfect for travel or taking with you in your purse.
