Milani Baked Blush Swatches

I love shopping my stash, so the other day, I pulled out one of my Milani Baked Blushes to use and forgot just how much I love them! So then I ended up pulling them all out and swatching them for fun. I posted my swatches to Instagram and it got tons of likes, comments and questions. So I thought I'd post them here too and talk about why I love them!

They remind me a lot of the Laura Geller baked blushes (which are $28 each), because they're so smooth, blendable and pigmented! They're also baked on Italian Terracotta tiles, just like the Laura Geller version...but they're only $7.49.

They come in 9 shades, 7 of which are shimmery and 2 of which are matte. They glide onto the skin so effortlessly and can be applied sheer or built up. When I swatch them with my finger, they go on pretty heavily but when you're using a brush, they end up applying pretty sheer (so don't worry that the swatches look dark!). Some of the shades (like Luminoso) are a single color, while others have a marbled effect with gold, bronze, or other shades swirled into the blush.
You can see in the swatches how smooth they look...they just glide across your skin and warm it up with such a beautiful glow!

Have you tried the Milani Baked Blushes yet? If so, what are your favorite shades?

Wet n Wild is coming out with a new, limited edition range of lip glosses that will be hitting stores in the next couple of weeks! The line is called Le Pop Art and features six lip gloss shades with adorable comic-style packaging.

The swatches look promising don't they? I saw them swatched on Snapchat and they look like they go on really nicely!

What do you think of the color range? Are you excited for these? I don't know about you, but I'll be stalking Walgreens in the coming weeks, hoping to find them!

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude Review & Swatches

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude ($42 at Kohls) isn't a new palette but I picked it up during a recent The Balm sale on HauteLook and I've had quite a few requests for a review and swatches. I think a lot of you are wondering if it's worth the $42 price tag and I can already tell you that although I'm happy I was able to get it for $21, I would definitely pay full price for this one (and I don't say that too often). Let's take a look!

Quick Verdict: Yes, yes, YES! You need this one.
The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude Review & Swatches

First of all, the packaging is so adorable, just like all The Balm products. It's quite large and it has a nice big mirror. The soft cardboard palette has a magnetic closure and I feel like it is very well cushioned to protect against the shadows breaking if this gets dropped. It also has a nice slim profile, so it's not a heavy, clunky palette to store.

All nine shades are matte, which is one of the reasons I purchased this palette. As I get older, I tend to gravitate toward more matte shadows and the only all-matte palette I have is the original Tarte Tartelette palette. So I was definitely looking to add more shades to my collection, especially since I don't buy single eyeshadows very often.

This palette has a beautiful range of shades, both warm and cool, including a pure white shade which is hard to find in most palettes. Usually you get a cream or a pale pink as the lightest shade, so having a pure white shade is a welcome addition to my collection.

I'm so glad that each shade stands on it's own, there aren't any in this palette that are too close to each other. There are three gray shades...Matt Johnson is a deep charcoal, Matt Abdul is a pretty medium gray and Matt Hung is a grayish purple shade. There are also three brown shades...Matt Garcia is a warm deep brown while Matt Rosen is a warm medium brown. Matt Wood is a really deep, rich brown that would work great as a liner. But the nice thing is, all three browns and all three grays are very different from each other.
The last three shades are very different from each other... Matt Malloy is a pure creamy white, Matt Singh is a pretty peach shade, and Matte Lombardi is a buttery tan-yellow.

The formula of these shadows is beautiful. They're so smooth and silky with very little fallout. They feel almost creamy which is rare for matte eyeshadows...most of the time mattes are dry, powdery, and brush off of the skin easily without a primer. These really cling to the skin and have great staying power.  The pigmentation is just insane...look at that white shade! When I swatch eyeshadows, the really light cream or pink shades usually don't show up very well on my light skin, but this one really pops. These are swatched on bare skin, no primer and they're one swipe after swirling my finger around in the pan a few times.  They also go on very true to the color in the pan, which is just so amazing.

Overall, I can't recommend this palette enough and give it two thumbs way up! These are some of the best matte eyeshadows I've had the pleasure of trying. If you're willing to wait for another HauteLook sale, they usually come around once every few months, so there will likely be another one in the late Spring/Early Summer. Or, if you can't wait and want it now, don't feel too guilty about the $42 price tag...this is an extremely high quality palette. Plus, if you're buying it at Kohls, you can use your Kohls Cash and Yes2You rewards on this to save a little bit off the price.

Meet Matt(e) Nude can be found at TheBalm.com and at Kohls.com and select Kohls stores.

Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color Swatches

I saw these on Instagram last night and wanted to share them with you guys...look at these lip swatches of the new Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color (see my original post about that here) ! For me, it's always most helpful to see actual lip swatches and this is all ten shades. What do you think? Any colors you've changed your mind about (in a good or bad way) now that you see them on the lips?

Milani Lash Trifecta Mascara Review

Milani Lash Trifecta ($7.99 at drugstores) is a brand new mascara for Spring 2016 and I've been wanting to get this review posted since a few of you have asked me if I've tried this and the other new Milani mascara, Big & Bigger Mascara (review coming soon on that one). So I've been using this for about a month now, I'm definitely ready to share my thoughts...keep on reading after the jump!

Hard Candy Velvet Mousse Matte Lip Color Review & Swatches

Hard Candy Velvet Mousse Matte Lip Color ($6 at Walmart) is brand new for Spring 2016 and I am so excited to review them for you guys because I think you'll really like the formula compared to the other matte liquid lipsticks at the drugstore right now. Let's take a look!

Maybelline Master Precise Skinny Gel Pencil Review

Maybelline Master Precise Skinny Gel Pencil ($7.99 at drugstores) is a new eyeliner that has a micro-tip for sharp precision. I've been eyeing the Hourglass 1.5mm Gel Eyeliner ($16) for a while now, because when you have hooded eyes like I do, a skinny line takes up a lot less of that precious eyelid space. I've tried a lot of skinny liquid liners, but the idea of a skinny automatic gel pencil is even better, especially for everyday use. So I was really glad to see Maybelline come out with a 1.8mm version for half the price of the Hourglass one. Let's take a look!

City Color Contour Effects On-The-Go Palette Review & Swatches

I recently stumbled upon the City Color Contour Effects On-The-Go Palette ($5) at my local Five Below store and I bought it because 1), I'm rarely disappointed by a City Color product and 2), this is a $5 contour palette! It would be so amazing to have a high-quality contour palette at a budget-friendly price wouldn't it? Keep reading to find out what I think!

Physicians Formula Ultra-Nourishing Argan Lip Oil Duo Review

Lip oils have been around a while now, but mostly from higher-end brands like YSL, Clarins and Hourglass. Until now there haven't been any at the drugstores, but that all changed when Milani and Physicians Formula released their own formulas for Spring 2016. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed in the Milani Moisture Lock oils...they seemed to actually make my lips drier, so I was crossing my fingers that the Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Lip Oil Duo ($12.95) would be better. Let's take a look...

Flower Beauty Hydrasilk Ultimate Lip Butter Review & Swatches

The Flower Beauty section recently got an overhaul at my local Walmart and there are a bunch of new products with really pretty rose gold packaging (see my post here for all the newness), while a lot of the old products are now in the clearance section. Replacing the old Lip Service Lip Butter is the new Hydrasilk Ultimate Lip Butter ($7.98), which promises to give lasting hydration & conditioning with a glossy finish. Let's take a look!

Profusion Studio Blush Palette Review and Swatches

If you've been following me for a while, you probably know that I've turned into quite a Profusion Cosmetics junkie lately. Their newest products have left me so impressed, especially the Studio Contour and Studio Highlight palette (see my reviews here and here). So when I saw their Studio Blush Palette on their website and I knew that it had to be mine. Luckily, before I even had to place an order, I spotted it at my local Kmart (I didn't even know they carried Profusion!). It looked even more beautiful in person, and at only $5.99 (or $1 per blush-crazy right?) I couldn't resist. Let's take a look...

Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lipsticks Swatches

I have some exciting news for all of you matte liquid lipstick fans...a new drugstore option is here and it's only $2.99!!! A few lovely ladies on Instagram spotted the new Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lipsticks at Kmart and I have some photos and swatches to share with you.
I was just at Kmart last week and spotted a bunch of new things (see that post here) but these must have arrived since then. I definitely have to go back and check them out now because I have always been impressed with Jordana products. Their Best Lash Extreme mascara is one of my holy grail formulas and I also love their lip crayons. I'm hoping that these new lipsticks aren't too drying, but I guess we'll see!

From this photo below from @swatchesgalore on Instagram, it appears that there are ten shades, but don't quote me on that because the photo is cut off on the right hand side.

Next, my pal @themakeupblock on Instagram posted swatches of the two shades she bought...Creme Brulee and Tiramisu. She said that they smell exactly like the LipKits by Kylie and Milani Amore Mattes and that they're super pigmented and even with one swatch!

Here's a few more shades, swatched by @nailmatticbeauty on Instagram. Left to right: Tiramisu, Raspberry Tart (which she said is a little patchy), Mixed Berry Souffle, Cherry Cobbler, Sweet Marsala Wine, and Rose Macaron.

Are you guys excited about these? What colors look good to you so far?

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer Review

I spotted the new Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer ($14.99 at Ulta.com) on a recent trip to Kmart and was super excited because I had seen it on their website but none of the drugstores near me were carrying it. It wasn't cheap at $14.49 (Kmart price), but there's a $4 instant coupon on the package that you can use at the register that helps out quite a bit. I don't really own too many bronzers, as they tend to look very orange on my pale skin, but I do like to use them sometimes in the summer when I have a little more color to my face. Still, I may be a sucker for packaging but this one looks so pretty and tropical and the name "Butter Bronzer" makes me think it'll be perfect for my dry skin. So keep on reading to find out what I think!

Pur Cosmetics HydraFluid Water Serum Foundation Review

Pur Cosmetics recently sent me their new Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation ($39 at Ulta.com and Purcosmetics.com) and I couldn't be more excited to review it for you today because...spoiler alert...this is one of the best foundations I've tried in a long time. This Spring it's all about getting dewy, healthy-looking skin that looks natural and this foundation fits in perfectly with that idea. Let's take a look!

Maybelline Master Contour Palette Review

Maybelline Master Contour Kit ($12.99 at Ulta.com) is brand new for Spring 2016 and I first spotted it at CVS last month in a huge Maybelline display that had a bunch of new products in it. I picked this up with the intention of posting a review soon afterwards, but it kind of got lost in the shuffle during the craziness of the holidays. Thankfully, I'm back on track and posting reviews every day, so to hear my thoughts on this palette, just keep on reading!

Coastal Scents Revealed Smoky Palette Review

I can't remember the last time I bought a smoky eye palette...I have fair skin and I find that the super dark shades in a lot of "smoky" palettes look too harsh on me. So when I have a big event and want to rock a smoky eye, I tend to reach for deeper browns or plums versus black and gray, because it looks a little bit softer. That's why I decided to take a chance on the new Coastal Scents Revealed Smoky Palette ($19.99 at CoastalScents.com)... the price was right and it has the perfect shades to create "my" kind of smoky eye (as well as everyday makeup looks too).
Let me just say, I'm so glad I did and I'm excited to share my review and swatches with you today. Let's have a look...

Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation Review

Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation is brand new for Spring 2016 and is my highest requested review at the moment! It claims to be a gel-whipped formula with a soft, velvety matte finish. While most matte foundations feel drying on the skin, this one promises to be a hydrating matte formula. All I can say is Thank YOU Maybelline! I've never found a matte foundation that I can wear because I have really dry skin, so when I saw this at Bed, Bath & Beyond, it was like the heavens opened up and the angels started singing. And if you have oily skin, have no fear because the moisture in this formula won't clog you up.
So is this as comfortable to wear as it claims to be? Keep on reading to find out...

Swatches of the New Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipsticks

This is going to be a quick post, since it's getting late and I'm heading off to bed soon. But I just saw this on Instagram and I knew a lot of you wanted to see swatches of these since I posted a sneak peek of them earlier this week.
So without further ado, here are the new (not yet released) Too Faced Melted Chocolate lipsticks. Are any of these shades calling your name?

Nars Dual-Intensity Blush Swatches

Nars Dual-Intensity Blushes ($45, Sephora) are brand new for Spring 2015 and are formulated with Nars' exclusive Translucent Prismatic Technology which allows for multidimensional effects.

I was able to swatch all six duos while in Sephora today and I was blown away by how soft and pigmented these are!  They can also be used wet for an intense watercolor effect.

Here are all the duos up close:

I just couldn't get over how beautiful these are and how soft and silky they feel.  There wasn't one shade that was difficult to pick up...they're all really pigmented. I'm dying to buy one now and try it using it with a damp brush to see that "watercolor, second skin" effect but I have no idea what color I want!  Decisions, decisions...

Too Faced Selfie Powder Swatches

Too Faced has just released some new products for Summer 2015, including #Tfnofilter Selfie Powder ($36, Sephora), to help you look filter-perfect, no filter required.  I was at Sephora today and got some swatches to share with you.  Let's take a look!

This palette contains three face powders that can be used on their own, or blended together for a custom look. They "mimic the effect of photo filters by using light-fragmenting technology to brighten, bronze, and illuminate the skin".  Too Faced founder Jerrod Blandino wanted to create a product that women could use so that they can honestly use the #nofilter hashtag.
Sunrise brightens and gives a diffused warmth to the skin.
Totally Toasted bronzes with a smoothing glow.
Moon River brings a soft, ethereal glow to the skin.
Sunrise, Totally Toasted, Moon River
I made these swatches heavy so that they'd show up on camera, but these powders are very subtle and lightweight.  They cast just the right amount of glow on your skin without looking obvious or like you're wearing makeup.

I can't wait to buy these...what about you?  Would you try the Too Faced Selfie Powders or do you think it's gimmicky?
