Organix Argan Dry Body Oil Review

Since I had such a great experience with Organix Coconut Hibiscus Body Lotion (see my review here), when I saw this dry body oil, I had to try it.  

I'm a sucker for body oils, since I have dry skin, and the thing I like about this one is that it's a "dry oil", meaning that it sinks into the skin quickly without an oily/greasy residue.  Argan Oil is still a hot ingredient, because it's so moisturizing and good for the skin.  Here are some bottle and ingredient shots:

This does contain mineral oil, for those of you who don't like that.  It's a bit disappointing that it's the first ingredient, and Argan is third on the list, but I guess pure Argan oil would be really pricey, and this only cost around $6 at CVS.  

The scent is amazing!  It smells so fresh and clean- almost like a floral/herbal shampoo maybe?  I can't put my finger on it, but if you're in the store, you have to flip the top open and take a whiff...you'll want to buy it just for the scent- trust me.  It doesn't smell like your typical Moroccan Oil scent- it's less heavy and more light and fresh.  

The oil sinks right in and is super moisturizing without feeling heavy at all.  I like to use it right when I get out of the shower and my skin is still damp- it locks the moisture right in.

Now, my one complaint about this product, (and it's kind of a big one), is the packaging.  You dispense the product by pouring it out in your hand through this rather large hole in the top of the bottle.  When you tip the bottle, the oil runs all over the place, no matter how careful you are.  It runs down the bottle and makes a puddle on the sink every time.  I think I'm going to transfer it to a pump, which would be much easier to work with.

Organix Coconut Hibiscus Creamy Body Lotion Review

Recently, Organix launched a new line of body lotions and body washes.  They come in three scents, Coconut Hibiscus, Moroccan Argan Oil, and Cherry Blossom and Rice Milk.  

My experience with Organix hair products has been so-so, but I was at CVS last week, and ended up purchasing the Coconut Hibiscus body lotion. My mind was in summer mode since we had a random warm snap in New England and it was 80 degrees outside...I took one whiff of the Coconut Hibiscus lotion, and decided I had to have it for the scent alone. It smells heavenly.  Creamy coconut with just a hint of floral to make it a little feminine.  But overall, it smells like you just walked onto a tropical beach- amazing.

This contains Sugar Cane and Willow Bark, which mildly exfoliate to encourage cell turnover, as well as Coconut Milk proteins. Rice Milk and Bamboo Extract soften the skin.  One downside is that it does contain mineral oil, for those sensitive to it. 

To be honest, I didn't expect too much from this lotion, since I got average results from the shampoo and conditioner. I really just bought this for the scent...BUT, I was shocked at how amazingly soft and smooth this made my skin! It literally felt like velvet after using this.

It's got an average consistency, not too thick, not too thin: 

My skin is incredibly dry, and this not only moisturized and made my skin feel like smooth as silk, but after using it for a few days, I realized that it had also smoothed and gotten rid of my flakes!  It soaks in immediately and leaves no greasy residue.  I actually put this in my purse and brought it to work (and it's not a small bottle at 13 oz!) just so I could use it on my hands throughout the day, and bring the scent of the tropics to my cubicle.  I think I'm going to put some in a small, purse friendly bottle to tote with me from now on.  

I'm actually thinking about going back for the body wash.  

Have you tried this, or any of the other scents?  I loved the Moroccan Oil scent and almost bought it too. :)

Spotted in Stores- Organix Coconut, Moroccan Argan and Cherry Blossom body washes and lotions.

Today while I was at CVS, I spotted some new Organix body washes and lotions in three scents: Coconut Milk & Hibiscus, Morrocan Argan Oil, and Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk.  

The Coconut Milk and Hibiscus is a "creamy" body wash and body lotion.  
The Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk is a "cashmere" body wash and body creme. 
The Moroccan Argan Oil is a "creamy oil" body wash and body lotion.  


They seem to mirror the hair products, which I absolutely adore the scents of, but haven't necessarily stood out to me in terms of performance.  But, the thought of using that amazing Coconut Milk & Hibiscus scent all over, instead of just on my hair is enough to make me want to try these!

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub and Body Butter Review- Hawaiian Kukui Nut

When visiting my parents the other day, I noticed some products in their bathroom that could only be my sister's.  Like me, she is a beauty junkie, but where I am obsessed with makeup, she is crazy about skincare products, and it shows- she has perfect, glowing skin all the time.

The products I saw were by Tree Hut, and she had a sugar scrub sitting on the edge of the tub, along with a jar of body butter.  I opened each one to smell them and they smelled tropical and fantastic!  So of course, I went on their website and found that their products are sold at WalMart and Harmon drugs.  On my way home from work, I stopped into Bed Bath and Beyond, since they have a Harmon Drugs inside, and I found their Tree Hut section!  

They had four different scents there: Coconut Lime, Brazillian Nut (like coffee mixed with caramel!), Hawaiian Kukui Nut (warm, and sweet and beachy), and Almond and Honey.  After smelling them all multiple times- I could NOT decide, but I finally went with Hawaiian Kukui Nut.  I purchased the sugar scrub and the body butter.  They were under $6 each (WOW) and both were generous sizes- The scrub is an 18oz jar, and the body butter is 7oz.  

The scrubs are formulated with organic Shea Nut Oil and natural extracts.  They are also paraben free and DMDM free.  

Beneficial Ingredients:Certified Organic Shea Butter: skin repairing & moisturizing, anti-aging, promotoes elasticity
Kukui Nut Oil: fast absorption, softens and heals cracked skin

Safflower Seed Oil: deep moisturizer

Evening Primrose Oil: rejuvenating and anti-aging agentAvocado Oil: reduce sun damage/age spots, hydrates

This scrub is amazing- it really has some grit for a sugar scrub, and buffs your skin to perfection.  This is hands down the best scrub I have used at any price!  Not to mention it smells amazing.

The body butter is super thick- it's literally like butter!  I had to scoop it out with my hand, it was so thick, but my skin just soaked it right up.  If your skin isn't dry, you might find this a little too heavy, but Tree Hut also makes body lotions, which are a thinner consistency.

Cacoa Butter: provides relief for dry or flaky skin, protects skin from irritants

So, dear readers, have any of you tried Tree Hut products yet?  I am amazed by the quality for the price they are charging!  For those of you who haven't tried this brand, run, don't walk to WalMart or Harmon!

Gold Bond Sheer Ribbons Body Lotion Review

I was at Walgreens yesterday, and I saw a new display of Gold Bond Sheer Ribbons Body lotion.  The packaging caught my eye first- the lotion is in metal bottles instead of plastic.  Now, if I'm being totally honest, when I think of Gold Bond, I think of the medicated foot powder- totally unsexy.  So needless to say, I haven't tried any of their body lotions, though they've been around a long time. 

This one actually had testers to try, so I thought, "why not?" 
This stuff is amazing!  It comes in two formulas- Pearl Radiance and Silk Softness.  
The pearl formula contains a hint of shine- not shimmer or sparkle, it just gives the skin a subtle pearlized effect and makes it look radiant.
The Silk softness formula contains silk proteins to make your skin buttery smooth.
I tried both- one on each arm, and walked around the drugstore for a few minutes.  Here's what I observed:
Both formulas come out in a flat, ribbon shape when you press down on the pump.  Both are extremely creamy and almost have the consistency of a primer- they smooth into skin and disappear quickly without leaving residue.  

Both have very subtle fragrances that smell wonderful- I liked them both.
The arm that I put the silk softness on seemed a bit softer than the pearly one, although I really liked the pearl effect.  Then I realized that the silk softness formula also seemed to have a pearly effect, so I purchased that one.  Here's the label.

 

They retail for $9.99, which seemed reasonable for what you're getting.  It's a large bottle- 23oz., and the product is fantastic.  It even softened my knees, and heels, which is a rare thing!
If anyone has seen this in stores, or has tried it, I'd love to hear your opinions!

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Gel Oil Review

I am a big fan of body oil, because I find that regular body lotions evaporate over the course of the day, and my skin is dry and flaky again by the evening.  I've been using Neutrogena's Sesame formula body oil, and I love it...it's one of my favorite products in the world. 

But I was in Walgreens the other day and spotted Palmer's Cocoa Butter Gel Oil.  I thought that a gel formula might be a convenient alternative to the regular oil. 

This product is fantastic!  It's thick, almost the consistency of honey, but it spreads very well, especially on damp-from-the-shower skin.  It takes a few minutes to soak in, but when it does, your skin turns to velvet!  It smells like cocoa butter , so those of you who do not like a coconut-chocolate type scent, won't like this product. I happen to love it, because it smells like vacation.

Another great thing about this product is that it imparts a gorgeous sheen on the skin, like all the celebrities in magazines have.  Regular body oil only gives that sheen for a little while, but this lasts all day.  In the summer when my skin is tanned, I think it's going to look amazing! 

Of course, I'll still use the Neutrogena if it's really humid outside, because I have a feeling that the Palmer's won't soak into the skin well in very humid weather. 

Overall, this is a great find, especially for those of you who have really dry skin, or that want a dewy glow that lasts all day.
