Rocksbox Review (and Coupon Code)!

I love fashion but when it comes to accessorizing, I'm a little bit lost. Mostly, I'm jewelry-challenged...I never know what goes with what and have a hard time mixing and matching pieces. So when I was recently approached by Rocksbox to review their jewelry subscription service and of course I said yes!
Rocksbox is the premiere destination to borrow designer jewelry before you buy. For only $19, you can borrow as much as you'd like! Keep reading to find out how you can get your first month free.

Here's how it works:
  • Sign up at www.rocksbox.com
  • Take the Style Survey and add items to your wishlist.
  • Your stylist will send you 3 pieces based on your style and tastes.
  • Keep the jewelry as long as you want (as long as you're still subscribed).
  • When you want to change it up, send your jewelry back in the prepaid envelope and you'll get 3 new pieces.  You can do this as often as you want.
  • Each month, you'll get $10 in "Shine Spend" to put toward purchasing an item you love so much you just can't bear to send it back (and the jewelry is 20% off retail prices!).
  • To purchase an item from your box just keep it and send the rest of the box back. Your credit card will be charged for the price of the item, minus any credits you may have.
  • Every time you refer someone to Rocksbox and they sign up, you'll get $25 in credit to spend on jewelry purchases!
Please note that all jewelry is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized every time it comes back to Rocksbox. The pieces I received looked brand new!

I received my box the other day and right away, I loved the packaging...it was tied with a pretty ribbon and inside everything was personalized.

I got a message from my stylist who said that she noticed I liked a particular Gorjana cuff when I took the survey, so she built a cohesive set around it! This is why I'm already loving Rocksbox...I don't need to know what jewelry pieces to put together...they do it for me! Plus, they really listen to what you want.

I also got a detailed list of what was in the box, including prices if I'm interested in buying any of them (I currently have $10 in Shine spend to put toward these right now).

So what did I end up getting? Let's take a look...

The jewelry comes in individual organza bags and the more breakable pieces are also wrapped in bubble wrap.

In addition to the gold Gorjana cuff I liked, they sent me a pair of Margaret Elizabeth stud earrings in white and a Slate statement necklace.  This is perfect, because in the survey I told them I liked stud earrings (dangly ones aren't a great idea for me these days with a toddler around) and I've also been wanting to try more statement necklaces to break outside my comfort zone a bit (I usually wear very simple, delicate necklaces but love how statement necklaces look).

The gold Gorjana cuff is exactly my style! It's simple and elegant, yet casual at the same time.  I'm going to have a hard time sending this one back, but it's $107 if I want to purchase it...quite a bit more than I'd normally spend on jewelry. I think I'll keep it for a while and see how often I wear it...if it becomes a total wardrobe staple, I'll feel better about buying it...if not, it's going back!

The Margaret Elizabeth Druzy studs in white ($70) are really pretty and different...definitely not your basic stud. The white stones have little bits of sparkle inside them...so pretty! They're a bit larger than I'd normally wear, but then again this is about breaking out of my comfort zone, so I'll definitely enjoy wearing these around for a while.

Finally, the Slate Skyline necklace ($80) is a beautiful statement necklace without being too fancy...sometimes they have too much color or too many gems for me.  This matches my more casual style, but it can also be dressed up easily.

Here I'm wearing the earrings and necklace (sorry, it was a no-makeup kinda day).

Overall, I absolutely love Rocksbox! I'm really impressed with my stylist's understanding of what I was looking for...she hit the nail on the head and also included a piece I had on my wishlist. Plus, I'm excited that I don't have to stress about what jewelry to buy or what to wear together. Finally, I love that Rocksbox allows me to try out designer jewelry that I never would have spent the money on before. The fact that I can wear it around for a while ensures that if I do spend the money, I'll be 100% positive that I love the piece...how often do you have the opportunity to do that?

    1. That's a great question...I wondered that too! They sterilize everything that comes back before sending it to the next person.

  2. Hmm not sure I'd trust the earrings being cleaned but jewellery looks great!

    1. You could always sterilize them again with rubbing alcohol just to be sure! That's what I did...I'm a bit of a germaphobe. :)

  3. Hi so in theory if you like a piece it could've been used previously by someone else? So you would be buying that used piece of jewelry? Or if you like a piece that send you one brand new and never worn before once you notify them that you want it? I've seen some vids on my youtube what to watch feed the last couple of months but never watched. When you refer someone does the affiliate code provide one with credit to use toward buying jewelry or just towards the cost of the subscription service? Thx appreciate the info as I like many others wants all the details as there are so many subscription services being touted now that just have not been that good. And as a consumer I want full disclosure to know all about the details I also feel like if a blog is promoting it then every bit of info should be included like the details about sanitizing and sending out the items not kept. That's an important piece of info that no one would know if they didn't happen upon the comment section. I appreciate your response.

    1. Hi Kenny! I apologize for missing some info in my original post. I'm normally writing them late at night after the baby goes to sleep so I tend to forget to mention some things. I'll go back and add it. Anyway, you may be purchasing something used however, it's discounted at least 20% from the original price. If you like a piece in your box and want to buy it you don't have to send it back with the rest...just keep it and they'll charge your credit card the price they gave you on the info card that comes in your box. You just have to login to your account and let them know if you're keeping something. If you refer people to the site, you'll get credit toward a jewelry purchase not the subscription.
