Urban Decay Naked on the Run Palette Review & Swatches

Urban Decay's brand new Naked on the Run palette ($54) is an entire look in a box, minus foundation, concealer and brows.  If you've been considering one of the Naked palettes but couldn't justify the $54 price tag for just eyeshadows, you might like this option more because it's the same price but has more variety.  Lets take a look!
The back of the box details everything you get inside.  It comes with 6 eyeshadows, 1 bronzer, 1 blush, 1 full size Naked lip gloss, 1 travel sized 24/7 Eyeliner (.03 oz compared to .04 for the full size), and 1 travel size Perversion mascara. The eyeshadows, 24/7 liner, and Naked gloss are limited editions that are exclusive to this palette!

The palette is about the size of a CD case, just slightly larger and considerably thicker, like 3 CD's stacked on top of each other.  It's also quite heavy. The case is gorgeous...rose gold with a beautiful abstract watercolor design in the center.

The inside of the palette features a large mirror that covers the entire lid which is so great for travel!

Perversion mascara is one of my favorites (see my review here) so I'm happy they included it in this palette!

Stag is a limited edition 24/7 Glide Eye Pencil exclusive to this palette and it's described as a "deep brown satin".  I have tons of black pencils and tons of brown ones but I've never owned one this color...it's right in between the two.  It's the perfect mix because it's not quite as harsh as black, but it's still darker than your average brown liner. I'm really loving it!

Naked Lipgloss in Sesso- This is also a limited edition shade exclusive to this palette.  It's a rose color with pink shimmer and it's so perfect for this time of year.  I wore it on Thanksgiving with a burgundy dress and it was just perfect! I don't like to wear dark lipstick, but this added a deeper tone to my lips than my usual nude-pink go to shades.

Eyeshadows- This palette includes 6 eyeshadows and I love them all...they're so wearable and perfect!  I have my go-to shades in my Naked 2 and 3 palettes that I use all the time and others that I've barely touched.  This palette is like an edited down version where I'm getting just the shades I would wear all the time.  These are also limited edition and exclusive to this palette.
All of the shades are soft, buttery and highly pigmented, just as I've come to expect from Urban Decay.
Left to Right: Dive (metallic rose w/golden micro-shimmer), Fix (soft taupe matte), Resist (medium metallic taupe), Dare (medium brown matte), Stun (metallic bronze w/light gold micro-shimmer) and 5050 (cool bisque satin).
Bronzer and Blush- These shades are also totally wearable and not as dark as they appear here once blended out.  The bronzer isn't too dark or too orange for my fair skin, and the blush is such a pretty pop of pink!
Bronzer: medium bronze matte. Blush: vibrant pink w/light shimmer
Final Verdict- Definitely worth the splurge!
If you're new to the Urban Decay Naked line and are looking for a gift for yourself or for someone else, this is the perfect introductory kit because you get a little bit of everything to try (in shades that would look great on anyone).
But even if you're a Naked veteran like I am, you'll still love this palette because the eyeshadows, eyeliner and gloss are all new shades that you won't find in the other palettes and collections. Plus, the quality is as high as ever.
I want to say that I'll save the On the Run palette for travel, but I know that's not going to happen.  I've already used it every day since I got it, so it's just part of my every day look right now.  The only thing I would change about this kit would be to add some brushes.  That would make it just perfect!

  1. This looks really cool! I agree that if it had brushes it'd be perfect. I think for the price, Urban Decay should've included them. Great post! I'm really enjoying your blog :) .
