Hard Candy Top Ten Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches Naturally Gorgeous

Hard Candy Top Ten eyeshadow palette in Naturally Gorgeous features 10 neutral shades for a mere $6. With the success of Urban Decay's Naked Palettes, a lot of people are looking for cheaper alternatives. I wasn't crazy about Maybelline's Nudes Palette so I decided to test this one and see what's what.
Hard Candy used to be sold at Sephora back when I worked there and I believe at one point they were even owned by Urban Decay, though not anymore. Now I believe the only place you can buy it is Walmart which is not a store I frequent much (Target all the way!).

It comes in a very slim, travel friendly case with a soft padded lace overlay on the front half of the case.
Inside are ten decently-sized shadows ranging from light to dark, most of them have a bit of shimmer to them (not glitter). It comes with 2 double sided sponge-tipped applicators and a mirror that is the length of the case but very narrow, so it's not easy to use.
Here's a close up and swatches of the first 5 shades. They've included 2 highlight shades, a gold toned one and a pink toned one. Then a rosy bronze shade, a gold shade, and lastly, a deeper bronze.
The last five shadows are darker with not as much variation. The first and third shades here are very close, while the second one looks a lot like the last shade of the first half of the palette. The fourth shade here is another bronze, just a bit darker than the ones in the first half of the palette. Finally the last shade is a deep brown that comes out almost black. It was dry and lacked the pigmentation that the rest of the shadows have.

Overall, these shadows are soft and nicely pigmented (more than the Maybelline Nudes) but they do require primer to keep them from smudging a bit. There are some beautiful shades in here but some of them are very close to each other, so I would give liked to see a little more variation. Also I can't really call this a Naked Palette dupe, because it lacks the variation and staying power that the Naked has. However, this is a steal at $6 so if you're looking for a neutral colored palette with nice pigmentation, this is a fun. travel-friendly choice.
