The Body Shop Oils of Life Review

Last month, I posted about a brand new skincare range that was launching at The Body Shop called Oils of Life. There are four products in the collection and I ended up going to my local store and getting two of them to try, figuring that if I liked them, I'd go back and get more. 

I ended up getting the two products that really caught my attention...an essence lotion and a facial oil. There are also two moisturizers in the line, a lighter gel-creme formulation and a regular creme. Let's take a look! 

The New Body Shop Oils of Life Skincare Collection is Going to Be Huge!

I've been a fan of The Body Shop since the mid '90's when I was in high school. I used to go in there for the bath oil beads and those oil burners that made my room smell awesome. Not to mention my friends and I used to argue over whether the Dewberry or White Musk perfume was better (I was White Musk all the way!). They've come a long way since then...I've been addicted to their Coconut Body Oil for years (and I swear it's the one thing that prevented stretch marks while I was pregnant) but their new collection, Oils of Life, takes it up another notch with ultra luxe new packaging and formulas and a simple, three-step skincare routine.

I heard about this new collection from an email that the Body Shop sent me last week, so yesterday I went to my local store to see it in person. It wasn't out on the shelves yet, and the salesperson told me that they're actually launching it today (8/30), but she could sell it to me from the stockroom if I wanted. As it turns out, the employees had already all purchased it for themselves and I ended up getting the very last facial oil they had in stock (and it hadn't even launched yet!). The girl that works there told me that this new launch is "going to be big...maybe their best skincare launch ever!" I have to admit, the packaging is just too gorgeous, so if that's any indication of what's inside the bottles, she may just be right. So without further ado, let's take a closer look at the products:

Product I'm Using Now: The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil

As I was getting ready for bed tonight, I decided to moisturize my skin with one of my tried and true favorites, The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil, and it got me thinking that I should be sharing these favorite products with you!

I originally bought this because of the scent. I love anything coconut scented and this one is especially delicious because it's a pure, sweet, nutty coconut...not suntan lotion or Pina Colada like a lot of other coconut scented products are. I tried some in the store (this was 4 or 5 years ago), then walked around the mall for a while and couldn't stop sniffing my arm. So I went back and bought it and have continued to buy it ever since.

The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Collection is Here

Just in time for Valentine's Day, The Body Shop has launched a new scent range called Smoky Poppy.  It's described as seductive, sensual, and indulgent and includes several different bath and body products to choose from.  Let's take a look!

From The Body Shop Website: 

"This limited edition line is enriched with real, hand-picked poppy flowers from the Ankara region of Turkey. This sensual and indulgent range is infused with a seductive, euphoric scent that will leave you longing for more". 

It sounds intriguing...I think I might have to try this out.  I might start with the $9 set that comes with a shower gel and mini body wash.  I hate to purchase fragrances online without smelling them but this sounds like it could be amazing, so $9 isn't the end of the world if I don't like it.  If I do, I'll be back to order more! Plus the packaging is just gorgeous!

New! Glazed Apple Holiday 2014 Limited Edition at The Body Shop

I love The Body Shop and I'm so bummed that it disappeared from my local mall a few months ago. Their Coconut body oil was totally part of the reason I got no stretch marks during my pregnancy...it's amazing! So now my only option is to order online so I browse their website fairly often and I just came across a new holiday collection called Glazed Apple.
Unfortunately I'm not able to smell it first, but it's described on the site as a "yummy, sweet scent". Not very helpful, I know, but I can only imagine what it smells like, since the picture on the packaging shows a Granny Smith apple covered in a candy coating. I'm guessing it's a very "holiday" type of scent and since I love most of The Body Shop fragrances and I love apple scents especially this time of year, I'm pretty sure I'll like this too. My favorite Victoria's Secret Fragrance, Passion Struck is a blend of Fuji Apple and Vanilla, so maybe this is similar!
So here's the entire range...I'm seriously considering buying one of the cheaper items to see if I like the scent first!
