Thank you so much to Danielle & Madison (@everythingglittersintx on Instagram) for sending me this photo of the new Almay Healthy Glow Makeup! They spotted it at their local HEB store and I bet we'll be seeing it pop up in drugstores any day now.

The display says that this is "the only foundation with a hypoallergenic gradual self tanner" and that it's "medium coverage" that "perfects while wearing and leaves a healthy glow after removal". It also claims to have no orange tone, no streaks and low to no odor and contains SPF 20. It comes in three shades: Light, Light-Medium, and Medium.

I'm not always excited by Almay but I have to admit, this one has me intrigued!

First, I like the thought of a two-in-one product that eliminates the step of using a self-tanner...if you're going to be wearing foundation anyway why not tan while you're at it?

Second, it would be nice to keep a little bit of "glow" even after I take my makeup off at night (or if I go without makeup some days which I do pretty often).

My only concern is that wearing it every day will result in a tone that's too deep for my fair skin....when you're fair you really have to be careful not to overdo it. That being said, I'm guessing that the lighter foundation shades have a very small amount of self-tanner in them. Plus in my experience self-tanner doesn't last as long on your face as it does on your body because of the constant exfoliation from cleansing twice a day and applying skincare.

What do you guys think? Are you excited about this one? Have you spotted it out in the wild yet?

Almay Age Essentials Spotted at Bed, Bath & Beyond

Almay Age Essentials is a brand new collection for Spring/Summer 2016 that brings us three new products! I feel like we haven't seen anything new from Almay in a while, so I'm really interested to see how these perform.

The first product in the line is the Age Essentials foundation, which claims to be "Your Complete Morning Ritual in a Bottle". It contains moisturizer, SPF 15 and anti-aging benefits for "luminous, youthful looking skin instantly" and comes in 9 shades.

The Age Essentials Lip Treatment claims to reduce the appearance of lines and improves definition. It's a clear formula with SPF 30 and an "anti-aging" core.

Finally, the Age Essentials Concealer claims to conceal age spots and under-eye circles and contains broad-spectrum SPF 20. It comes in four shades: Light, Light/Medium, Medium, and Medium/Deep.

What do you think of this new collection?

New Almay Smart Shade Blushes & Bronzers

Hi Budget Beauties, I hope you're all having a great weekend! I just wanted to share my latest Rite Aid find with you...I ran in there this afternoon to grab a gallon of milk and couldn't resist a quick stroll through the beauty aisles. :) I wasn't expecting to find anything, but I came across the new Almay Smart Shade blushes and Bronzers that my pal G. over at Nouveau Cheap posted about a couple of months ago.

They've really stepped it up from those compacts with the little dots, don't ya think? Their recent advertising with Carrie Underwood is portraying them as an "All-American" brand so I think the stars and stripes theme is really fitting and totally classy. Love it!

I picked up the shade Pink, but they also come in Nude/Mauve and Coral, plus there's one shade of bronzer as well (you can see them on the Almay website here). Here's what the pink shade looks like swatched...it feels very soft and was nicely pigmented. I swirled my finger around a few times and this is what one swipe looks like...it's a pretty, cool-toned Barbie pink.
I'll have to play around with this and see how it blends out on my cheeks and get a feel for how long-lasting it is, but I'll definitely let you know how it works out in a later post. If I like it, I'll pick up the other shades to swatch too.

Have you seen these out and about yet? What do you think of the new packaging?

Spotted: New Almay One Coat Mascara and Intense I-Color Gel Liners

It's not often that Almay launches new products, but there were two new offerings at Bed, Bath & Beyond this afternoon...a new mascara and gel eyeliners! Even though I don't always find Almay to be the most exciting brand at the drugstore, I'm pretty excited about these. Maybe it's the mascara junkie in me that just can't resist a new formula, but it also sounds like it could be pretty great. Let's take a closer look...

Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Review and Swatches

Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss, ($5.99 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond) is a new range of tinted lip balms that will likely be hitting drugstores everywhere very soon.
Unlike the rest of Almay's Smart Shade line, these are not "color adjusting". Instead, they're called Smart Shade due to three different color ranges that are meant to suit different skin tones: Light, Light/Medium, and Medium.

Today I spotted new Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lip balms at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Take a look!

New Products at CVS! Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation, Revlon Colorstay Timeless Perfection Concealer and more!

I'm so happy that the new 2013 continue to hit the drugstores early!  Every day there's something new to talk about.

Today I was at CVS in CT, and saw some new products.  So without prolonging the suspense, here they are!

Cover Girl Outlast 3-in-1 Stay Fabulous Foundation

This foundation has a built-in primer & concealer to help it last all day.  I love that it comes in a pump bottle!  I purchased it in Buff Beige which is my usual Cover Girl shade- I'm guessing they're the same all around?  Review coming shortly!

Revlon Colorstay Timeless Perfection Concealer

This one claims to have 24 hour wear with a time release formula.  I love concealers and am always on the lookout for one that covers well but doesn't settle into fine lines or cake under the eyes.  I bought this also, so I'll be reviewing it soon!

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Liquid Makeup

I'm so excited about this one and I've been waiting for Sally Hansen to do this for a long time!  I loved the results of the original Airbrush Legs spray, but hated the application.  It was super messy and left overspray all over my bathroom.  I can't wait to try this out. I wanted to buy it in medium, but it's already sold out.

Almay Smart Shade Mousse Makeup

Since mousse makeup has been hit or miss for me with other brands, I didn't buy this one right away, but I know I'll eventually try it out.  I love the thought of poreless coverage, and have been hoping for a mousse that works well on my dry skin.  Hopefully this will be it!  Below, some close-ups of the shades and blushes.

Has anyone tried any of these products yet?  If not, which one are you most excited about?

Almay Smart Shade Perfect and Correct Primer Review

I usually use L'oreal's Magic perfecting base as my main primer, but there are some days when my skin has redness in it, or it just looks blah and dull.  Almay's Perfect and Correct Primer contains green and purple shades blended together to counteract redness and brighten up dull skin tones, so I definitely wanted to try it out.
Here's what the Almay website says about it:
"New multi-tasking face primer intuitively adjusts to smooth and soften skin while correcting skin's most common problems with visible color correcting strands. green ribbons neutralize redness, while swirls of lavender pigments even out and brighten skin tone. imperfections are diffused and skin is up to 265% more hydrated. this lightweight, non-oily formula works for all skin types but is specifically formulated for sensitive skin. wear it alone for a flawless finish or underneath foundation for the first step to perfected skin."

Here are some swatches:

This primer has a very silky texture compared with other primers I've used.  It has a dewy finish, as opposed to a matte finish, and feels really moisturizing on the skin.  For someone like me who's dry, it feels amazing, but if you're oily, it might feel like it has too much slip for you. So does it really counteract redness?  I put it to the test...I put the primer on my left hand and compared it to my right-
My left hand looks way smoother, more hydrated, and yes, less red!  I was really impressed that I could see an obvious difference, because I wasn't expecting to notice it that much.
While I'm not sure if this made my foundation last any longer, I love it just for the fact that it creates a super smooth, soft, neutral base to apply my makeup to.
Have you tried this yet?  Also, if anyone with oily skin has tried this, I'd love to hear what you thought and if it worked for you!
