ELF Essential Beauty School Eyeshadow Book Swatches and Review

Last week I was in Walgreens and came across a new ELF eyeshadow palette that reminded me of the NYX Suede Palette I had just gotten (see that review here). The ELF palette was only $5, while I paid $12 for the NYX palette.
My local Walgreens doesn't have an official ELF section, but every once in a while, they stock a few products in the front of the beauty department, mixed in with all of the other new products.

The inside cover has directions on how to create an eye look with the palette.
This comes with large 9 shades (vs. 8 in the NYX palette), plus a mini eyeliner pencil in black. The reason it reminds me of the NYX Suede Palette is because like that palette, this has mostly neutrals, from light to dark but then they threw in a gold and a teal shade.
Swatches: I found these to be highly pigmented, soft and easy to pick up.  Especially for a $5 palette!  I did find a couple of shades to be redundant...the shimmery pinks (one on the top row and one in the middle row) swatched almost the same.  Also, the matte beige on the top row and the pinky-beige on the bottom row were also very close.

Top Row: Matte Beige, Satin Brown, Shimmer Pink
Top Row Swatches

Middle Row- Shimmery Pink, Satin Gold, Satin Teal

Middle Row Swatches

Bottom Row: Matte Pinky Beige, Shimmery Dark Brown, Satin Gunmetal Gray

Overall, this palette is a steal at $5.  I really like the mix of neutrals with a few bolder shades mixed in!
If you can't find this in your local Walgreens, you can purchase it on the ELF website HERE.
