Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review

On my quest for the perfect Beauty Blender dupe, I was introduced to the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge ($6) by several of my awesome readers. When I reviewed the Sonia Kashuk blending sponge a few weeks ago and was disappointed that it wasn't a Beauty Blender dupe, you all suggested that I try the Real Techniques version and many of you said you like it even better than the Beauty Blender! And guess what? You were right! Thank you for the tip...I love you guys, you're the best!
I purchased mine at Ulta for $6, but they also have them at Kohls and at RealTechniques.com.

This sponge has one major difference from the Beauty Blender, and that's the shape.  It has a flat edge instead of a round one.  This is the part I actually like better.  The flat edge makes it really easy to blend under and around your eyes and nose.

This sponge feels almost identical to the Beauty Blender...it's very soft and squishy and it bounces against your face nicely as you dab foundation on.  The Sonia Kashuk one was way too hard!

I use it damp, just like the Beauty Blender, and when wet, it expands to almost double it's original size.  Then I squeeze the water out with my hands, then wrap a towel around it and squeeze again.  I don't want it too wet or it'll sheer out my foundation too much.  I just want it very slightly damp so that it doesn't soak up the foundation or concealer I'm applying.

Here's my Beauty Blender for comparison.  I still love the BB but at $6, the Real Techniques version is less than 1/3 the price and I actually like the shape better!  So I'm going to continue to buy the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge from now on.  I really owe you guys one for letting me know about this! :)

Here's a quick 2 minute tutorial from Real Techniques on how to use the Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Now I'm dying to try some of Real Techniques brushes.  Have any of you tried them and if so, which are your favorite/recommended brushes?
