New Revlon Blushes...Hot or Not?

I was at Rite Aid over the weekend and spotted a display of new Revlon blushes. It had the new Insta-Blush sticks as well as the Revlon Powder Blush in "new multifaceted finishes". If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know I wasn't impressed with the Insta-Blush sticks...they barely showed up on my cheeks (I tried three different shades) and when I tried to blend them, they just blended away. Not to mention they were around twelve dollars each so I promptly returned them.

Are the powder blushes any better? Let's take a look...

The Revlon Powder Blushes come in 6 brand new shades and the display doesn't say if the formula has changed or not so I'm guessing it might be the same as before. I don't really recall if I've tried Revlon's blushes in the past so either way they're new to me.

They come in black plastic compacts that include a slim mirror and a small blush brush. They're made in the USA which I definitely appreciate!

I purchased three shades...Dare to Bare, Rosy Rendezvous, and Orchid Charm. Here's a close-up of each shade.
Dare to Bare (nude)

Rosy Rendezvous (dusty pink)

Orchid Charm (mauve)
All of the shades looked really pretty in the pan which is why I was so disappointed when I swatched them. These swatches are actually over primer...I tried everything to get them to show up in a photo but they're just very, very sheer.

The original Revlon Powder Blushes have great reviews on Ulta.com so I don't know if these are possibly a new formula or if I'm just used to more pigmented blushes now. Either way, I don't see myself using these...there are so many great drugstore blush options and these were pretty expensive at $10.49 each.

Have you tried any of the new Revlon blushes yet? I'd love to hear what you think!

  1. OMG almmost $11 for no pigment? No thank you. Revlon makes nice foundation but that's about it. I haven't bought anything from them in ages. I'm glad I saw this because if I saw that display in a store I might have decided to try them again. You should do a post on your favorite drugstore blushes!

    1. That's a great suggestion...I think I will! :) Yes, I agree...Revlon does make nice foundations but the powder products haven't improved at all. :(

  2. Oh man I was secretly hoping you would say these were good. I want to see brands like Revlon and Almay make a comeback instead of being so blah. Sigh.

    1. I know...I was hoping the same thing! I get bored of the same old stuff at the drugstore and just want someone to shake things up a little bit! If only I had the money to start my own line...I have so many ideas floating around. I wish I could help them, haha.

  3. I've never liked Revlon's powder products. So disappointing.

    1. Same here...especially when you have brands like Wet n Wild that create great formulas AND are cheaper. :)

I love getting comments from you and hearing about your experiences with the products, whether you agree with me or not. It's the best way other readers can get the best information before they buy, so keep the comments coming! :)
