I picked up two of the four shades and I chose the lightest colors Starlight and Moonlight since I have fair skin. When Lorac first previewed these on Instagram, they looked really light but then when I saw them on the Ulta website, they looked much darker. I assumed Lorac had overexposed their photo a bit, but it turns out that photo was more accurate than the Ulta Website (and I'm glad!). When you're as fair as I am, it's hard to find highlighters that are light enough but these both worked out nicely for me.
Description: Instantly bring luminosity and life to your face with Lorac Light Source Highlighter. These paraben-free, high-pearl highlighters are infused with anti-aging antioxidants and light diffusing, soft focus pigments for a silky-smooth, luminous glow. This illuminating, complexion-enhancing formula can be worn sheer for a soft, natural sheen or layered for a high-shine, dramatic effect.
Apply Light Source Highlighter to cheekbones, bridge of nose, brow bone, Cupid's bow and anywhere you want to lighten, brighten and add a radiant glow.
Starlight is described as a white opal shade, but not it's not actually white-white like Becca's White Pearl...it has a golden sheen and is like a lighter version of The Balm's Mary Lou-Manizer. It really pops nicely on my pale skin and the shimmer is so super smooth and refined. There's no obvious sparkle, just a beautiful pearlescent glow.

Moonlight is a gorgeous champagne shade...I'm totally obsessed! I can't get over how smooth these are and this one gives the prettiest lit-from-within glow that gives the effect of candlelight on your face. These come in the same gunmetal packaging with a magnetic closure as the Color Source blushes I reviewed a few weeks ago.

Overall, the Lorac Light Source Illuminating Highlighters get two thumbs up from me. They have the perfect amount of sheen and high pigment that shows up nicely on the skin...yet they're very refined and not too glittery for a naturally glowy look. Knowing Lorac's high quality eyeshadows and blushes, I had a feeling these would be amazing and they didn't let me down.

This looks gorgeous!

Oh.My.Gosh. These are stunning! I will buy one of them for sure but how do I choose?? It'll be one of these shades you reviewed because the others look too dark for me as highlighters. I like how light these are because I'm fair like you. I'm leaning toward Starlight but which is your favorite of the two?
ReplyDeleteI love everything Lorac. I feel like no one talks about them as much as some other brands that get lots of hype like Urban Decay, Too Faced and Tarte. I think they have the best eyeshadows, blushes, and lipsticks on the market. I'm so happy to see your reviews on their products lately and I will definitely be buying one or two of these for my collection. Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful swatches! I need these in my life. XO
ReplyDeleteOh my! They are so pretty. Both shades are something worth checking out. But for me personally, starlight is just so right for me.
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to see what they look like on your face.
ReplyDeleteThey are amazing! I was wearing starlight for awhile, and just recently splurged and bought moonlight...I was on the fence because I like more champagne/lighter colored highlighters...OMG I'm so glad I bought moonlight! It's my new favorite highlighter! It's so amazing, I just can't!lol...these are probably the most pigmented highlighters I own, I have Becca, and think the lorac highlighters are more pigmented! I will just stick with these 2, because the others are too good for me...
