City Color is launching a ton of new products for Spring 2016 tomorrow (March 1) and one of them is the gorgeous Timeless Beauty Palette ($24.99). I was lucky enough to get my hands on one before the official launch and I couldn't wait to review and swatch it for you. You guys probably know by now that I'm a huge fan of City Color Cosmetics and this definitely doesn't disappoint. So keep on reading for close-ups, swatches and a discount code to save 10% on this beautiful face palette.
The Timeless Beauty Palette comes packaged in a gold plastic case that feels pretty heavy and sturdy. I think part of the weight comes from the fact that this has a huge full sized mirror inside which is definitely a plus!
The shades in this palette make it possible for it to appeal to all skin tones. The first two blushes are dark enough to show up nicely on deeper skin tones (lighter skin can use them too, just make sure to sheer them out) and the two lighter shades look so beautiful on light skin. I'm obsessed with that lavender pink shade (third one from the left)...I don't think I have another blush like it in my collection!
The highlighters are best suited toward medium to dark skin tones if you're using them strictly as a highlight. Personally, I can use the middle one as a highlighter on my light skin but I like to layer the other two over my blush when I want a shimmery finish instead of a matte one. That bronzy-purple highlight all the way to the right looks so nice layered over that lavender pink blush. They can also be used as eyeshadows, so there are really so many uses for this palette!
The blushes feel just like the Be Matte blushes (which are some of my absolute favorites on earth)...they're so soft, blendable and highly pigmented. They're also really long-lasting for powder blushes, and it's almost like they stain my cheeks because they're so pigmented.
The highlighters are like buttah...they're so dreamy and soft, almost like a cream. The swatches below are one swipe on bare skin and there's not a bad shade in the whole palette. If your skin is any darker than mine, the lightest blush shade may not show up very well but it's just because it's so light, not due to lack of pigment.
Overall, the Timeless Beauty palette might be my favorite City Color palette yet! I love having four of the "Be Matte" blushes in one palette...I always want to bring them with me when I travel but this is so much easier. Plus the highlighters are really multi-purpose for me since I can use them as blush toppers and eyeshadows as well. The formulas of both the blushes and the highlighters are to-die-for and definitely high-end quality.
If you're interested in purchasing this palette, I have a coupon code for 10% off- it's BudgetBeautyBlog.
You can find the Timeless Beauty palette online at CityColorCosmetics.com starting on March 1, 2016.
why do the highlighters swatch so dark. they don't look like the typical champagne highlighter
ReplyDeleteThey definitely lean dark. As I said in the post, these highlighters work best on darker skin tones. I can only use the middle one as I highlight and the other two as shimmery blush or blush toppers because I'm so fair. :)
DeleteOoooh the swatches look rrreally nice.
ReplyDeleteI was really impressed with this palette...swatching it was so effortless! I didn't have to build up the shades to get them to show up, one swipe was all it took. :)
DeleteJust placed my order! Those swatches convinced me, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm so glad! You're gonna love it! :)
DeleteI love love love this!!
ReplyDeleteRight?! Such a pretty palette!
DeleteBe Matte Blushes are my holy grail so I need this in my life. Those highlighters are stunning! Thanks for the code, I'll be placing my order later today (yay payday!).
ReplyDeleteITS GORGEOUS! I cant wait till I can purchase it, which would probably be on Ebay because these items are not available in Canada :( Just today I purchased the Wet n Wild HollyWood Boulevard Highlighter for 27CAD with shipping and before that 37CAD for the Wet n Wild contour palettes Dulce De Lechay and Caramel Toffee! Which I do no regret!
