The Makeup Revolution Goddess of Love Highlighter ($7.48) is a beautiful champagne triple-baked powder that'll add a radiant glow to your skin. I purchased this back in the fall and now that all of the new Spring product posts have slowed down I'm happy that I can finally do a review and swatches on this for you guys.
This highlighter is part of the Blushing Hearts collection that Makeup Revolution put out a few months back, which features blushes, highlighters and bronzers. I actually did a review on the blushes back in November, because they're a total dupe for the Too Faced Sweethearts Blush (see that post here).Goddess of Love one of two highlighter shades in the Blushing Hearts Collection...the other is called Goddess of Faith. It comes in a cute cardboard container that's shaped like a heart and it actually contains a lot of product...it's much larger than I thought it was going to be and I know it'll last me a really long time.
At first glance, this shade looks to be a champagne color, but in certain light it takes on a pinky-violet shift that's absolutely gorgeous! I'm really sorry that my camera didn't pick that up...I could see it with my eyes but for some reason it didn't translate over well.
Goddess of Love is shimmery without being chunky or glittery. It gives a beautiful glow to any area of the face you want to highlight and it goes on smooth without emphasizing pores or fine lines. Pigmentation is good although this is one of those products that becomes more pigmented after you break through the outer layer. So at first, I wasn't impressed with the pigmentation but after swatching it a few times, it got a lot better. That sometimes happens to me with baked products...I'm not sure why.
Overall, this is a beautiful highlighter at a fantastic price point. You get a ton of product and the color is really beautiful with the pinky-violet overtones. Plus the packaging is just so darn cute! I can't believe I waited so long to write this review, because this is one of my go-to shades that I use all the time. Hopefully now that the new drugstore product releases have slowed down I'll be able to get to more of the reviews I had set aside!

I bought this but am new to highlights so where do you recommend that I apply this and how?
ReplyDeleteHi Shorty, I like to apply it where light naturally hits my face first...so the center of my forehead, down the bridge of my nose, my cupids bow above my top lip and chin...basically down the center of my face, then the tops of my cheekbones just above where my blush is. You can also dust it on your collarbone, shoulders and legs if they're showing. :)
DeleteWhat kind of brush do you use to apply it?
