I know I'm pretty late to the game with this review, since the Tangle Teezer has been around for a while. But I recently saw them in my local Target for $9.19 and all of the hype surrounding these made curiosity get the better of me. They had a few different colors in stock, orange and hot pink.
This brush has no handle, it fits in the palm of your hand. The bristles are flexible plastic and are alternating long and short. The feel of this bristles actually reminds me of a brush I had for my dolls when I was little. When I first pulled it out of the box, I was concerned that I just wasted my money on a gimmick...it felt kind of cheap, the plastic was so lightweight. Then, I used it to brush my hair. It was right before bed and I took my hair out of a messy bun...it was pretty tangled from the day and the Tangle Teezer brushed right through it with ease- no pulling! My hair actually felt super soft afterward too!
The next morning, I used it on wet hair after showering. Once again, it went through my hair like butter, smoothing the knots and tangles with no pulling. When I was finished, I was happy to see that there were no hairs in the brush, which is more than I can say for my regular brush that I use. My hair breaks so easily when wet that my regular brush looks like a small animal made its nest in it.
Overall, I'm super happy I bought the Tangle Teezer- it's an amazing brush! I have no idea how it works, since it appears to be just lightweight plastic bristles, but whatever the secret is, I don't care. It makes my hair shiny and smooth without breaking it or getting snagged on knots so I'll continue to use this every day.
