Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant and Advanced Repair Review

I've been dealing with dry skin my whole life, so I'm constantly on a quest for a product that will make it better, especially in the summertime when I'm showing more skin.  Recently I had the opportunity to try the newly reformulated Vaseline Intensive Care line- I've used the previous formula before (and my Dad who also has dry skin has used Vaseline Intensive Care for years) but this new formula contains micro-droplets of Vaseline Jelly to help seal in moisture.
If you have dry skin, it's because your skin's natural barrier (which helps hold moisture in) isn't functioning properly and lets moisture escape. Some lotions can temporarily help, but they can evaporate rather quickly leaving your skin dry again. The new Intensive Care line is formulated with humectants (which draw water to the skin) and micro-droplets of Vaseline Jelly (to lock the moisture in and keep it from evaporating).

I tried two different formulas- the Advanced Repair (in lightly scented and fragrance free) and Cocoa Radiant.  First, I'll start with the Advanced Repair. This formula is for very dry skin and contains glycerin to pull moisture into the skin and micro-droplets of Vaseline Jelly and dimethicone to lock the moisture in.

The Lightly Scented version smells wonderful- very fresh, clean, and light.  If you're sensitive to fragrance or just don't want your lotion to clash with your perfume they also make a fragrance free version.

As you can see in the swatch below, the Advanced Repair formula is thick and rich, and feels very soothing to dry, itchy skin.  It does take a few minutes to completely soak in, and I use this at night so that I can wake up to softer skin in the morning.
I've been using Advanced Repair every night for a week and I've seen a cumulative difference- since it's making up for the ineffective barrier in my skin, I'm not losing moisture throughout the day. I find that even after showering, my skin isn't as dry as it was before.

Cocoa Radiant contains pure cocoa butter which gives a natural glow to the skin.  It's also formulated with glycerin, Vaseline Jelly and dimethicone, like the Advanced Repair.  It has a delicious nutty, chocolate scent but it's not heavy and after a little while, it fades and you don't notice it.

This formula is thinner than the Advanced Repair, has a slight yellow tint, and soaks in almost immediately, which makes it ideal for putting on after a shower and getting dressed right away.  I've been using this as my day lotion for the past week and I love how smooth my skin feels right afterward.  Even though it feels light, it still gives plenty of moisture to my dry skin. I've also noticed that my skin has a bit of a glow to it and looks much less dull.

Also part of the new Vaseline Intensive Care line are Essential Healing and Aloe Soothe.

Overall, I am so happy with the new Vaseline Intensive Care formulas! These are super effective lotions for dry skin at wallet-friendly prices ($4.99 for 10 oz bottle, though I saw them on sale for $3.50 at Target the other day).
I'd love to hear from you!  Have you tried any of these new formulas?  Any other Vaseline products you can't live without?
