I saw this in Walgreens weeks ago and posted some photos of the display on my Facebook page, but I wasn't in a hurry to purchase any of the products because i felt like they might not apply to me. It seems to be geared toward teens with the hot pink packaging, foundations housed in small squeeze tubes, and having a major pop star as the face of the line. I'm a 36 year old with dry skin and tons of imperfections to cover so I figured I wouldn't like this. But my job here is to blog about all things new and budget-friendly, not just about what I might like. Thankfully I get surprised every so often...like now!
The formula is creamy and easy to blend yet very lightweight. It gives medium coverage and dries to a lovely matte finish that doesn't look dry or cakey (that's a hard thing to find when you have dry skin!). It also has no scent whatsoever, which is a plus. A few times during the day I passed by a mirror and was surprised by how good my skin looked- shine free and near-flawless all day long. I'm not used to that because I normally use very hydrating products that look dewy and either slide off mid day or start to look greasy. I think this will be my go-to foundation for summer because that's the time you really want to control shine, even with drier skin.
I chose shade 110 which is the second lightest shade. 105 was the lightest but looked more yellow in the bottle while this one looked a little more pink which is what I need.
So does it live up to its claims?

Blends easily- YES
Evens skin tone- YES
Reduces shine all day- YES
Overall: I love this foundation! It even worked well without primer which I would be inclined to skip in the hot weather as well.

I think I have to have this. I love Katy Perry and was so excited to see her as the face of Cover Girl! The foundation sounds amazing. I have normal combo skin and I'm 25 so I don't have lines yet but def some redness to cover up. Foundations always slide off my skin in the summer (I live in Florida where it gets really humid) so something that will keep me matte and control oil would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteI bought this as soon as it came out to review on my blog and I loved it too. When used with the powder it controls shine all day and doesnt move from my face or oxidize.
