Like all NYX shadows I've tried, this is highly pigmented and soft, with a subtle pearly sheen. It lasts for hours on its own, but when layered over NYX's eyeshadow primer it gets even more intense and long lasting. See Swatches with and without primer below!
NYX Eyeshadow primer comes in a little pot, and is a white creamy paste-like formula.
Here's Ocean eyeshadow before and after the primer. The shadow layered over primer is on the left, plain shadow on the right.
The primer really brings out the shadow and and while it doesn't make it darker, it does make it more opaque. The primer states that it makes it 100X more intense color...what do you think? Is it 100x? Either way, I'm in love with this color!

I've used the primer and found it works great. It's a good value too... a bit hard to find though in my neck of the woods!
