Emjoi eRase e60 Epilator Review

Today I'm writing about a topic I rarely speak about here on the blog...hair removal! That's because I've stopped shaving and waxing my legs. Haha, it's not what you think! I'm not going au natural or anything like that. I've actually discovered a new product that's as easy as using an electric razor and as long-lasting as waxing...the Emjoi eRase e60 Epilator ($59.95).

You may be familiar with Emjoi (I've blogged about their foot smoothing devices here on the blog in the past) and I was so excited to find out that they make epilators too! I don't know why, but I never hear about this method of hair removal...and it's totally underrated. Everyone I know either shaves or waxes, both of which have their own unique drawbacks.

Shaving is easy and painless but doesn't last very long, while waxing can be painful, messy, and costly (if you go somewhere to have it done). Using an epilator is just as easy as shaving, except instead of cutting the hairs at the skin's surface, 0 tiny tweezers inside the device actually pull your hairs out at the root (just like waxing)! It can even grab hairs as short as .3 millimeters! This means that you'll be hair free for about a month to 6 weeks and when hair grows back, it may be finer and thinner (less noticeable).

Now I'm not gonna lie, using the Emjoi eRase e60 isn't painless...it's a little bit sting-y, especially the first time around. The first time I used it, I was wincing a few times (just like waxing, you're pulling hairs out) but I got used to it after a minute or two and it honestly wasn't that bad at all. The next time I used it, about a month later, I didn't feel the sting nearly as much (maybe because my hairs were a little finer and thinner!). If you're already used to waxing though, this should be a piece of cake.

I didn't experience any irritation from using it whatsoever and the eRase also includes an attachment for sensitive areas, such as your face and bikini area. I haven't tried it on those areas yet...just my legs. I find that it works best if you exfoliate beforehand and then go either back and forth or in circular motions working in small sections.

The Emjoi eRase itself is small and travel friendly...it fits right in the palm of your hand. It comes with a power cord, sensitivity attachment, and travel pouch.

Overall, if you're looking for an alternative to your shaving or waxing routine, definitely check out the new Emjoi eRase e60! I'm loving it and think that it's the best of both worlds...easy to use and gives long-lasting results.

You can find it now at Amazon.com with free shipping!

*Please note that the floral pattern shown here is sold out...the only color left is a pretty blue color.

    1. Aw that's terrible! I haven't tried any others in the past so I have nothing to compare it to, but this one is supposed to be very comfortable to use compared to other epilators. I found it to be a little bit uncomfortable but nothing I couldn't handle, especially the more I used it. :)

  2. I started using one when pregnant with my daughter 8 years ago and love it, I don't have to use it that often at all and now it doesn't even hurt anymore..I love not shaving. I wish I had the guts to do my bikini line and underarms!!

    1. I don't have the guts to do those either...or my face! But I guess those are easy enough to shave. I just hate shaving my legs...it takes so long in the shower so I use this mainly for my legs. :)

  3. I have an Emoji as well (a different model though). I often have issues with ingrown hairs. Do you have that issue? And, if so, what helps? I do exfoliate, but it isn't enough :(

  4. I have a Bruan epilator for years and I love it and have been using it for years. I am at the point where I really don't have any hair left on my legs. My tips are to make sure the hair isn't long. The longer the hair the more pain. Also pull your skin down and taut with your other hand. The tighter the skin, the less pain. Don't use it during your menstrual cycle. Your tolerance for pain is decreased. For bumps/ingrowns I use No Bump Rx that is sold at Sally Beauty. The scent is strong, but it really works.

  5. I ordered this last week as a direct result of your post. I'm not even sure why, as I never even considered trying an epilator before as I'm super sensitive to everything from lotions and cleansers to scents to sound and light, and definitely to pain... But I love your blog (and the new site), especially because we have similar coloring, face shape, and are the same age, which somehow means I trust your judgement probably more than I should! So... my first experiment went well - on hair that had been shaved yesterday. It worked better once I tried high speed. Wondering if you apply lotion soon afterward - worried about the risk of irritation. Guess I'm about to find out!

  6. This looks like a cool epilator! I've tried the old Emjoi AP-18 in the past but I didn't have a good experience. I am curious to try this one as soon as I can get my hands on one. :)

  7. This works really well on my skin. I use this on my legs and also on my arms but my partner always complains that it hurts like hell when she uses it on her arms. Nevertheless great epilator
