Review:
Last week, Jordana released a new collection of Made to Last powder eyeshadow palettes on their website  and I quickly grabbed four of them to try. They just arrived yesterday so I haven't had the chance to wear them on my eyes yet, but I swatched them and posted photos on Instagram last night.
I really wanted to see how these stacked up against the Milani Everyday Eyes palettes since Jordana is a sister company to Milani. When I compared the two side-by-side I found that they're the same size and the outer plastic compact is identical, while on inside, the Jordana version is black and the Milani is gold. Both palettes have six eyeshadows, but the Milani version is laid out a little differently with some larger pan sizes mixed in with smaller ones. The Jordana shadows are all the same size, and come with a dual sponge-tipped applicator, while the Milani Everyday Eyes palette comes with a dual-ended brush.

Formula-wise, I don't see too much difference between the Jordana palettes and the Milani ones, except the Milani shadows might be a tiny bit more pigmented. The Jordana ones are nicely pigmented though, especially for the price and just like the Milani version, they contain a mix of matte, shimmer, and glitter shades (with the exception of the all-matte palette). I found the satin/shimmer shades to be very creamy, buttery and pigmented with quite a bit of fallout (big chunky flakes if you press firmly with your finger as you're swatching). The matte shades feel drier, but also very soft and they glide very easily on the skin with no skipping or dragging. They need a little more buildup than the satin/shimmer shades to get the same level of pigmentation and they have very little fallout.
The few glitter shades I came across had the worst amount of fallout and contained big chunky pieces of glitter that I could feel as I swatched them across my arm. They also needed to be built up a little bit.

The first palette I swatched, Beachy Keen is a nude palette that contains four shimmer shades and two matte shades. It has a nice mix of pink, brown, taupe, gold, and cream.

On the back of each palette is a guide that walks you step-by-step through three different looks.

This is the only palette out of the four that I swatched over primer, because I wanted to see how these palettes performed with primer and without. I found that both the shimmer shades and matte shades came out more pigmented over primer and I only had to swipe them once.

The Plumbelievable palette is a mix of smokier shades like silver, gray, charcoal and plum with a soft beige-y pink matte highlight and a dusty mauve glitter shade.

This palette is swatched over bare skin, no primer so I ended up doing two swipes of each shade to get the intensity you see here in the photo. When I first saw this palette I thought the last shade was black, but it actually comes out a deep charcoal gray. I really like the matte plummy shade in the center and the silvery gray shimmers are really pretty too.

Mint Condition is such a cute Spring palette with a matte mint green shade, a matte beige highlight and a matte chocolate brown. It has two satiny shades of gold and peach as well as an olive green glitter shade.

This palette was also swatched over bare skin, with no primer. Each shade was swiped twice.

The Make Me Matte palette is a rare all-matte drugstore palette (I can't even think of another one that's out there at this price point!). It's very neutral with shades of beige, taupe, brown, pink and gray...very versatile.

These were swatched over bare skin with no primer and each shade was swiped twice. I've found that for the most part, the matte shades lack the intensity of the satin and shimmer shades unless they're over primer. Still, they feel

Overall, these are some nice eyeshadow palettes for the price! Drugstore palettes continue to improve and get better, especially from these smaller brands.  Now if only Maybelline, L'oreal and Revlon would improve their formulas, we'd be all set.

You can find these palettes now at JordanaCosmetics.com...I'm not sure when or if they'll be in drugstores, but I'll be sure to let you know if I see them!

  2. I LOVE Beachy Keen and Mint Condition they're so pretty. I always use primer so I can't wait to try these. I hope they come to Walgreens/Kmart soon like the Made To Last liquid eyeshadows did.

  3. These are pretty! I didn't know Milani & Jordana were sister companies! Jordana has some great wins. Another drugstore matte palette at $7.99 is/are the three Physicians Formula matte quads which have been around for years. Thanks!

  4. I always forget about Physicians Formula! :) The only store that carries it near me is Rite Aid and I don't go in there much since they're usually slow to get new products.

  5. Wow, some great color combos here! The formula needs improvement, but for the price, it sounds decent, worried about fallout. Some of the colors/combos remind me of the new Kat Von D quads (Katherine T.)

  6. These would be great to keep in the car as a compact touch up palette. Which one was your favorite?
