Throwback Thursday!
April 28, 2016
I was going back through my blog archives the other day and suddenly got an idea! I thought it would be fun to create a Throwback Thursday post so you can see what I was posting about this week in previous years. If you like this post, let me know in the comments below, and I'll do it every week. :)
2015:
The last week of April in 2015, we saw Rimmel Keep Calm and Lip Balm and CoverGirl Super Sizer mascara hitting the stores. It's funny that the new CoverGirl Super Sizer Fibers launched at the exact same time this year. I actually snuck a peek to the next week's posts in 2015 and saw that CoverGirl launched the rest of their summer collection the first week of May, so I'm hoping we'll see that in stores next week (if they stick to the same schedule).
Also in 2015, Hard Candy launched their 20th anniversary collection with the retro nail polishes. I was so happy to see those again! I also reviewed the Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balms, Tarte's Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Park Ave Princess, and the L.A. Girl Blush Collection palettes in Glam and Glow.
2014:
I don't know why I had a lack of posts in 2014 this week. My son was 10 months old and crawling all over the place at the time so maybe I just had my hands full, haha! I did review the Palmers Skin Therapy Oil though, and also posted some giveaways.
2013:
I didn't have any posts this week in 2013 because I was at Disney World! Eric and I wanted to take one last trip before our son was born. I was about 7 mos pregnant here and am just noticing that I wore flip flops all around the park (was I crazy?? I have no idea how I did that!). We drove down from CT because I'm so terrified of flying I can't get on a plane without medication (and I couldn't take anything while pregnant). My husband is a seasoned business traveller so he thinks I'm completely ridiculous but he went along with it and we drove all the way to Hilton Head, SC in one day. My doctor said we should stop every 2.5 hours so I could walk and avoid any blood clots. We left the house at 8am and arrived at 10pm...not too bad. The following day we made it to Orlando in only a couple of hours and we spent the rest of the week at Disney before making the long drive home. Now that my son is almost 3, it's definitely time to go back!
2012:
This week in 2012, we saw the launch of Clear Hair Care. Also, Revlon came out with the Scented Treats nail polishes (totally forgot about those) and I reviewed Maybelline's new Great Lash BIG mascara (and actually liked it, haha!).
There weren't really any posts before this point. I started my blog in 2009, but the first three years I posted very sporadically.
Do you remember any of these products? Anything you still use today?

I LOVE this idea and hope you do more. I bet there are so many products that we have forgotten about over the years and post like this will bring it all back. I have those Hard Candy nail polishes sitting in a drawer and I was SO excited when they came out last year. This reminded me to go upstairs, grab Sky and give myself a pretty blue spring manicure. I LOVE YOUR BLOG!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I'm glad you like it! I was thinking the same thing as I was looking back through my old posts...need to dig out that nail polish again. :)
DeleteWow girl, you look great for 7 months pregnant in that pic! Forget about flying, you were brave to go that far in the car, I would have been so scared.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lauren! :) I was a little scared for sure, just not as scared as I would have been flying, haha. Luckily, I had a very uneventful pregnancy up until that point so I figured it would be okay. Funny enough, well not really funny, but my husband ended up getting sick with a 24 hour stomach virus (or ate something bad on the road) when we first got to Disney. We were just holed up in a hotel room for an entire day and night. I was fine though! :)
DeleteLove this idea!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, thanks Sarah! :)
DeleteI think that driving is definitely more scary than driving. You don't have "air rage" and incompetent pilots. I would love to see maybe some vintage ads for makeup. I grew up during the 1980s and they had some great ad back then.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in the 80's too and it's when I first started to get into makeup so it's nostalgic for me to see old 80's ads. :)
DeleteI never did find the Hard Candy blush in the heart-shaped box...
ReplyDeleteMe either! I was so mad because Hard Candy released a list of all the stores that had the 20th anniversary collection but what the list didn't tell you was which products were in which stores. Some stores got a very small display with just the nail polishes and eyeshadow palette and others got the full collection. I went to 3 or 4 different Walmarts and they only had the small display.
DeleteHave you continued to use the Palmers oil? Any thoughts on its effectiveness after 2 years?
ReplyDeleteThis was a fun read! I only started reading your blog last summer and it's fun to see what you had to say in the past. I don't really have time to go back and read past posts on blogs unless I am looking for something specific.
ReplyDeleteI love this :D
