Maybelline has been testing out their new Summer/Fall 2016 lineup at New York Fashion Week and I've been following along on Snapchat and Instagram because they always post sneak peeks. Here's a sampling of some of the products you can expect to see on drugstore shelves starting in late May/early June (the official release date is June but stores always put them out early).
Master Strobing Stick by FaceStudio Illuminating Highlighter (shade pictured Porcelain) Yesss! I was just saying in my Maybelline Faves and Flops post how much I love the Master Glaze blushes, and this looks just like them, except it's a highlighter! I'm so glad more drugstore brands are releasing highlighters because it's such a big trend right now (and I have a serious weakness for them).
Color Tattoo Liquid Chrome (shade pictured Silver Spark)- Liquid Color Tattoos! I wonder how many shades these will come in?
Colossal Spider Effect Mascara- This will be arriving in stores in May ahead of the others (Maybelline always tends to release a mascara ahead of the new collections). Sigh...I just don't get the whole "clumpy spider lashes" look, so I'm wary of this one.
Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds Lipstick Collection- This collection will include 11 deep, bold shades including black, deep purple, bright orange and royal blue. They have a kaolin clay base for a more opaque look.
Here's a sneak peek of the black shade layered under "another yet to be released hyper gloss) posted on Maybelline's Instagram page. That gloss is called Lip Studio Shine Shot Glassy Top Coat but they haven't released any photos of it yet.

What are you excited to try from the new collection?
Strange they are releasing "bold" colors during the summer months. Those look more like "fall" colors.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too! Then I remembered that products released in the summer are usually fall collections. Just like all the Spring stuff arrives in December. It doesn't make any sense, and I wish they would change it. In May I'm thinking about much lighter colors! :)
DeleteI'm excited for the lipsticks and the color tattoos. CoverGirl used to have a similar liquid eye shadow item and it was awful!

DeleteDo you know if they are replacing the Vivids with the Bolds? I noticed they were all on clearance at my Target! I don't get the spider lashes trend either, I've been disappointed by the last couple mascaras they've released, the original Lash Sensational is my HG though.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, but it's definitely possible. I assumed that the Vivids were limited edition. :)
DeleteThe vivids were a perminant collection, however they are being replaced with the Bolds collection that's why there are a lot of similar shades between the two.
