RT Dupe Brush Sets for Under $6!

I posted this deal on my Instagram page earlier tonight and I wanted to share it here too, for those of you who aren't on Instagram. A friend recently told me about a phone app called PatPat (in the Apple and Android stores) and it's a flash sale site similar to HauteLook, except their focus is mainly on beauty accessories and baby/kids gear.
Right now they have these brush sets that look exactly like Real Techniques and some of my Instagram followers who have purchased them said that there is no difference between these and Real Techniques. Some even said they liked these better!

Here's the scoop...the set on the top left that looks like the Bold Metals collection from R.T. will be available tomorrow, 1/11 at 6am PST (9am Eastern). The price is $10.59 for the entire set BUT if you use code rJMWZ0, you'll get 50% off your first order which brings the price down to $5.29. If you're interested in these, I recommend loading the app right at the start of the sale because my friend said every time these are on sale, they sell out very quickly.

The other three sets that look like the regular R.T. brushes are available now and each set is $7.99. If you use the code above, you can get them for $3.99!

If you need makeup brushes, I highly recommend downloading the app to your phone/tablet. It's free! Don't forget to use code rJMWZ0 to save 50%. Happy shopping!

  1. I have bought numerous dupes (or, rather, counterfeits) of both Real Techniques and (if I recall correctly) EcoTools brushes. Even though I hate seeming like I'm spamming a comment section, I was going to name-drop the site here, but I decided against it: The brushes likely do qualify as true counterfeits, at least for all intents and purposes, as the brand names and brush styles are written on the brushes just as they appear on the real ones. If something's on the website I bought them from, though, that means they're probably also available on eBay as well from other sellers from Hong Kong or China. Of the ones I have both the real and knock-off editions, like the RT Expert Face Brush, I can't tell the difference. I got back-ups of those and the stippling brushes, powder brushes, buffing brushes, 'dupes' of the core collection and eye starter kit and Miracle Foundation Sponge, and I recently obtained two new 'Bold Metals' ones, the eye detail and arched powder brushes. (Nearly every brush style is available, even of the 'Bold Metals'...and in additional colors: the expert face brush is also available in pink, the stippling in orange/gold, etc.) Each individual brush was between $1-$3 and change. I don't have any of the metals or the foundation sponge, so I can't compare those, but, again, otherwise, no difference to me. (I have an issue with washing brushes, :P so I wanted to have cheap back-ups.)

Because the brushes are synthetic, I don't have to worry about the bristles coming from certain non-human animals, and I'm not sure their production involves any more labor issues than that of the ones in stores (...), so my remaining ethical cavil is with their being counterfeit. I believe this month the RT (save the Bold Metals) and EcoTools are B1G1 at Ulta, so if the ones available on PatPat are of similarly dubious provenance, perhaps your readers should be directed there instead. Perhaps not so with the individual brushes, but with the multi-brush sets, I would have been happy with the B1G1 price instead of the ~$7 I paid (along with the 2-3 week shipping times...and their dubious nature....). I'm going to start washing my brushes and stop patronizing those sites, as it doesn't feel any different from advertently buying knock-off UD Naked palettes, for instance, not to say that's true of the ones on PatPat.

Thank you for reading; hope your new year is off to a great start.

    1. I have a feeling that these are likely made in the same factory as the RT brushes but just don't have the name and advertising attached to them, so they cost less. Sort of like generic food at the grocery store. In my experience, counterfeit products are sub-par copies so if these are the same exact quality as other people have told me, then they might be just generic versions versus counterfeit ones. But I'll have to wait to get mine before I can see the quality myself and compare to my own RT brushes.

  3. Nevermind, found a different code lol. Thank you so much for this! I got the metals dupe and I can't believe it was only $5! I've been wanting them forever but I am very strapped for cash right now. I never would have known about this if it wasn't for you, seriously thank you so much for posts like this!

  4. These brushes might be the same as real techniques just not branded, if that makes sense.
Kind of like those makeup collections anyone can put their name on? RT sisters might have picked these brushes to put their name on and promote.

    1. That's what I was thinking. Especially since everyone says they're exactly the same. Of course I don't know for sure but it seems that way.

  5. I picked up several sets and let me tell you, they are not shoes in my opinion. They're not as heavy or as dense. I got the orange set and the metals. I'm not complaining because the price was great and now I have cheap extras. But I just wanted to let you know, you're getting what you pay for!
