Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup Death By Chocolate Palette Swatches and Review

If you follow my blog regularly, you probably know that I have developed a somewhat unhealthy obsession with Makeup Revolution.  They are a British beauty brand that has the most amazing dupes and high-quality products at drugstore-like prices.  When I saw that they had duped Too Faced's Chocolate Bar palette for $13.17, I had to have it (and ordered a bunch of other things to make the shipping costs worth it!).  It took about 7 or 8 days to get it in the mail choosing regular shipping, not the more expensive one.
The problem is, I didn't realize that there were two chocolate palettes on the site and I ordered the wrong one by mistake.  The Too Faced dupe is called I Heart Chocolate (I have since ordered that one so look for a review soon).  The palette in this review, Death by Chocolate, is inspired by the Too Faced Chocolate Bar, but the shades aren't exactly the same.
This palette is part of a line within Makeup Revolution called I Heart Makeup.  (Please note, if you visit the site, you'll need to change the currency from Pounds to US Dollars on the left side of the screen under their menu headings).

The Death by Chocolate palette looks similar on the outside to the Too Faced Chocolate Bar, but I actually like this one a little bit better! It feels heavy and sturdy and comes packaged in a box with hot pink lettering (pictured above).  

Inside, there's a large mirror, double ended sponge-tipped applicator, and a plastic film with the shade names on it (the names are so cute...I love them!) There are 16 shades in all, 6 of which are matte and the rest are satiny with a hint of shimmer but not sparkly or glittery at all.  It does smell faintly of chocolate inside, but not quite as strong as the Too Faced Chocolate Bar.

This palette is mostly neutrals and has a great mix of shades that aren't too close to each other.  One of my major pet peeves with palettes are when they contain  some colors that are very similar- I like variety!

Like the other Makeup Revolution palettes I've reviewed in the past, these have amazing pigment and are soft, buttery, and apply with minimal fallout.  In fact, this Death By Chocolate palette feels even softer and easier to swatch and blend than the Iconic 2 and Iconic 3 palettes I reviewed a few months ago!

I've been using this palette the last few days, and I'm so in love with it!  The shadows are just beautiful in person and they're so buttery, pigmented, and easy to work with I feel like I'm using a high-end palette, not something I only paid $13 for!  I'm really looking forward to getting the I Heart Chocolate palette and doing a comparison post with the Too Faced Chocolate Bar for you guys!
