Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation ($7.99) is a new oil-based formula from Maybelline New York. Ever since Armani Maestro, we've been seeing this type of foundation coming out left and right. Last year, L'Oreal launched Magic Nude and Physicians Formula also came out with one called Spotless (my reviews of both are highlighted if you want to read them). I like them for their ability to seamlessly blend with the skin- they're so lightweight you don't feel them at all.
Unlike L'Oreal's Magic Nude which has an open-necked bottle, this has a wand for easier dispensing. It's not a dropper like Armani Maestro and Physicians Formula have, but according to the instructions, you just dab the wand onto your finger and then use that to blend it into your face. I would prefer a dropper- this wand is a little weird because you have to keep dipping it back in to get more product. I'm not a fan of it, honestly, although it's better than Magic Nude which you have to very carefully pour out.
So far, all of these oil-based foundations have recommended blending with fingers rather than a brush, and I do find that it's easier to apply them that way.
Here's the first swatch- you can see how fluid this is- it's not creamy or thick at all.
Blended out a little, it's starting to just melt into my skin.Blended out all the way, I found this to have light to medium coverage- more than a BB Cream or Tinted Moisturizer, but it's only going to cover minor imperfections and redness. On my dry skin, this lasts a good 7-8 hours, but oily skin might find that number to be less.
Now here are the ingredients, and let me start by saying that I had already been comparing this in my mind to L'Oreal's Magic Nude, which I use all the time. It seemed so similar, I wondered if the ingredients were close, especially since L'oreal owns Maybelline. Guess what? They are identical! Every.Single.Ingredient.

And here are L'oreal Magic Nude ingredients:
So if you've already tried Magic Nude and like it, you'll like this too, especially because it has a dropper so the packaging is a bit better. Or just go with whatever one is cheaper or on sale. However, if you didn't like Magic Nude, don't bother trying this...it's literally the same thing.
Are you a fan of Magic Nude, or are you looking forward to trying Dream Wonder?
