Spotted in Store- Revlon Nail Art Break-Up Crackle Effect Nail Polish

I was in CVS today and saw these really cool looking Revlon Crackle Nail Polishes.  They're double ended with complimentary colors and have cute names that go with the Break-up theme.

I picked on up in Fatal Attraction, so I'll be posting a review this week- stay tuned!

  1. I was excited after purchasing this last night but that was short lived. The base coat is very muted and took 3 coats to get full coverage. Once my base coat dried I was even further disappointed with the crackel or lack there of, it was more of slight streaking. It does not look good and I consider myself experienced with painting my nails so I wouldnt say it's operator error. TOTAL WASTE OF $8!!!

  2. Hi Tasha,

Thank you so much for your review! I used mine for the first time last night, and I had the exact same results as you. I thought maybe I was doing it wrong, because I couldn't get it to crackle very much- it streaked. I tried putting a thin crackle coat, then I took it off and tried again with a thicker coat- it just didn't work. And I also didn't like the really matte finish. It looked like I messed up painting my nails.

  6. I bought the fatal attraction. Purple polish with red/white crackle. Very disappointing until I used my white nail polish first(2 coats) and then the red/white crackle on top. Perfect! Revlon does not need to waste our money with a base coat. We can use what we already have and just use their crackle! I like this now and will try another of their crackle colors.

  7. Thanks everyone for your experiences. Babs, that's great! I bought Fatal Attraction also, and it didn't work. I'm going to try your suggestion and use the crackle over a different polish. Maybe it's the sparkle base coat that messes it up?

  8. Very much the same experience. I bought Ice Queen and to be honest it looks like a 4 year old painted my nails. Truely disappointed with it however I was thinking maybe with a different polish underneath and that seems to work as per the above comments. Thanks I will try it and hopefully salvage the polish.

  9. I purchased 4 more crackle colors. All disappointing except the Gold with black + white crackle. That one is great as it is. The following colors all need white as a base coat - Bronze with white crackle (instincts),royal blue with white crackle(crossed), The green with silver + white crackle I have not figured out yet. Maybe use the mauve polish -Star.

  10. Mine did the same. I used fetal attraction and i put on the crackle when it drys it gets lumpy and looks like a kid did it. I am experienced painting my nails. Just think this nail polish sucks! i thought it was a great deal two in 1 nail polish next time i'll try the other crackle nail polish not by Revlon

  11. I bought all of them, and the only good one is Cruel intentions. the others don't look good or crackle well, but Cruel Intentions does and everyone comments on them as they look like foil nail polish, add a few top coats and they chine nicely and last for weeks. I wish I had bought 5 of them in USA as we can't buy it here in Australia
