Revlon's new Colorstay Longwear Nail Polish has been in the drugstores for the past few weeks, and I've really been wanting to try it. The color range is extensive and the ads say that it's "shatterproof for up to 11 days". Pretty impressive!
The color I chose was Rich Raspberry- a really pretty rosy pink.
I'm really happy with this nail polish so far! It glides on with almost a gel-like consistency, and dries to a super shiny finish without a topcoat. It almost looks like vinyl on my nails. The picture below shows some of the shine, but in real life, they look even shinier.
I'll have to see if it lasts 11 days, and update the results here. When I went to Revlon's website, there was an asterisk next to the "11 days" claim, and it says "when worn with Colorstay base and topcoats", so it sounds like it's not going to last that long on its own.
But either way, I'm really happy with this- it performs better than much more expensive salon brands.
Has anyone tried this? How long did it last on you?
I have one in Bonsai (it's a really unique green), and it's going strong after 5 days. So far so good- no chips.
ReplyDeleteI definitely wanna try this! From the picture, it looks like they have a lot of colors I want!
ReplyDeleteYou HAVE to use at least the topcoat (I didn't even know about the basecoat as the original dicontinued formulation didn't have one). 6 days and still going strong on me, and I couldn't make it a day with a regular nail enamel. But please get the topcoat. Well worth it.

I bought the base & top coats and a sage green color (?Spanish Moss) last week. I've now had it on for 6 days and I'm so impressed with it. It went on so easily and perfectly. I used two coats of color but probably could have gotten away with one. Most of the tips have wear on them. My nails are usually so flexible and they feel stronger now. I'm kind of surprised Revlon made this great polish (IMO their makeup is awesome but their polish quality and consistency was lacking). This new polish really is the next generation for home polishes. Higher than excellent quality.
ReplyDeleteLOVE isn't a strong enough word to explain how I feel about this new nail Polish! I've used them all!!! Over the past 35 years (I am not a young woman) I have spent probably thousands and up to $15 for a single 'Premium' polish with special base and top coats only to have them chip or peel (ALWAYS!) within a day. It seemed as if it took me longer to paint my nails than the polish actually lasted. I pretty much gave in to a life with bare nails. Well no more!!! I am on my 6th day of REVLON COLOR STAY and going strong. I am so impressed with the durability, color, and shine that I went out and bought 7 more colors and I am vowing to get every nail polish color they make with extra base and top coat so I never run out! Thank you Revlon for getting me excited about painting my nails!
ReplyDeleteLasted 9 days on me with only slight tip wear. Only reason I had to take it off was I had a ton of grow out from cutical area - looked great the entire time. I cannot wait to get more shades and I will get the base coat - maybe the top coat. But I am so in love with SV top coat - hard for me to think this would be any better.
ReplyDeleteTried stiletto with base and top coat, still going strong after five days!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this polish!!!!
Passion pink.. Used base and top coat.. Day 4 going strong. ;)
ReplyDeleteI just bought passionate pink today! It's gorgeous! I'm posting a review tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteI think, for the price, these polishes are a very good option. When used with the base and top coat I got a good seven days with only a bit of wearing at the tips. Great coverage with two coats. For reference, I'm a nurse and worked three 12 hour shifts in the last seven days...lots of gloving, hand sanitizing, and washing! Not bad at all! I'll be buying other colors (I have six!).
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! This polish is amazing and worth every penny! They are also on sale this week at CVS! Im going to stock up!
ReplyDeleteAdd me to the list of loves! I only bought it b/c of the Rainforest color for St. Patty's Day. Little did I know! Day 7, only one small chip/wear spot on index finger b/c I was trying to pick some label of something with vigor. I will say, I used with OPI base coat and top coat...no problems. Did re-coat after, say, day 5 with another top coat. But the Revlon Colorstay is flawless! My only complaint...PERSONALLY, none are really my shade. :( (Though, I am digging Rainforest for something obscure! Will wear it again outside of St Pat's! :D
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that I can do this at home for less than half the cost of the salon gel polishes (and minus the formaldyhide and UV lights).
ReplyDeleteMy only complaint is that the polish does not dry "hard" like any other type of polish. I use the base and top coats, and have "dents" in my polish after day one.
Other than that, I love love love this polish!!! I have 4 colors, and counting. It lasts a good 7 days on me with some wear at the tip of the nail.... but by then I'm bored with the color and need a change anyway! :)
Have had the ColorStay basecoat, polish and top coat applied by my manicurist for two weeks in a row. Within two days the index and second finger on my right had begin chipping and the same fingers on the left hand chipped a few days later. I was really hoping that this product held up to it's claims. I am disappointed for having invested in the three products with results less than expected.
ReplyDeleteIt's the colorstay base coat that is the magic. I've used it with other brands of nail polish (essie, rimmel, and revlon). I've used a previously purchased essie topcoat, and sally hanson quickdry, both have worked. Never before have I had a manicure (other than gel) go longer than a day or two without extreme care.
ReplyDeleteHi! I recently bought a couple of colors (rich raspberry and marmalade,) plus the base coat and top coat. I've had it on for a couple of days now and if i were wearing my usual polish, i would have seen some chipping by now. I usually wear zoya and orly. i don't expect polish to last that long on my nails even with my seche vite top coat on. my zoyas and orlys have great colors but they chip easily on me. this however, is very promising. no-chipping so far. i think, it's the most long-wearing of all the brands i've tried. the color-selection is very limited for now but i hope they come out with new collections soon. i also wish they made a quick-drying top coat. Over-all i'm loving it!!
