bareMinerals The Wish List READY 12.0 Eyeshadow Palette Review

bareMinerals released two new palettes for Holiday 2016, and I recently reviewed the Be Beautiful Face Palette (see that post here). So today I wanted to talk about The Wish List READY 12.0 Eyeshadow Palette ($45) which is currently available at Ulta.com.

The Wish List comes in a pretty and festive black and gold box with the shades, ingredients and country of manufacture (USA) on the back.

The palette itself is made of solid plastic with a latch closure, and the design looks very similar to the box it comes in.

Inside are twelve eyeshadows in warm, neutral shades with matte and shimmer finishes.

The shades include:

  • Merry (pink freeze shimmer)
  • Bubbles (metallic pink shimmer)
  • Come True (english toffee matte)
  • Granted (maple sugar matte)
  • Yes Please (cinnamon brown sugar matte with gold glitter)
  • Stiletto (plum chocolate matte with gold glitter)
  • Chance (pink cream matte)
  • Daydream (nude crème matte)
  • Bling (glistening taupe shimmer)
  • Gold Leaf (burnt gold shimmer)
  • Good Spirits (perfectly chocolate matte)
  • Boardroom (deep chocolate matte)

The formula seems to vary a little bit throughout this palette.

The shimmer shades (Merry, Bubbles, Bling, & Gold Leaf) have a super soft, buttery texture that feels almost creamy and they are all very nicely pigmented.

The matte shades (Come True, Granted, Chance, & Daydream) are also super soft but they don't feel creamy like the shimmers...they're super smooth and easy-to-blend. They're also easy to pick up and nicely pigmented.

The deeper brown matte shades (Good Spirits & Boardroom) feel drier than the others for some reason. They are still nicely pigmented but they tend to skip a little when swatching them on my skin, so I found that I had to swipe them a second time to make them opaque.

The two matte shades that contain glitter (Yes Please & Stiletto) are also on the drier side and the glitter particles make them feel a little bit gritty when swatching them on my arm. I don't notice it when I apply them to my eyelids with a brush, but it's just something to keep in mind.

I swatched these on bare skin with no primer. The four darkest shades to the right were each swatched twice to build up the drier formula a little bit but the rest of the shades were swatched once. They all come out a bit more intense when swatched over primer.

Overall, this is a beautiful warm neutrals palette that I've really been enjoying lately! It offers a nice range of shades, including matte and shimmery highlights, matte transition shades, medium crease/lid shades, and deeper colors you can use on the outer corners or as liners. You can really use this palette to create several complete eye looks without having to dip into another palette, which is always a good thing!

Even though the darker shades feel a bit drier when swatching on my arm, it doesn't make too much of a difference when applying them to my eyes because I use so much less product than I would for a swatch. Like other bareMinerals eyeshadows I've tried, these all have nice pigmentation and blend really nicely on the eyes. I also like that they included different finishes in this one!

  1. I have the nude palette and I enjoy it. The shade Chance is in that palette as well. I might have to pick this up, but I'll wait for a 20% off.
