Maybelline Age Rewind "The Eraser" Review

I was in Walgreens yesterday on my lunch break, and noticed a whole endcap devoted to the new Maybelline Foundation called "The Eraser".  It's part of their Age Rewind collection, and since I turned 30 two years ago, I am always fascinated by anything that supposedly turns back the clock. When I was younger, I didn't worry about foundations making me look older, but the past couple of years, I find them settling into those tiny little lines that are forming around my eyes.
Anywhoo, back to The Eraser...I chose a shade, thanks to the testers they had out at Walgreens (kudos by the way, most drugstores don't offer testers!), then eagerly brought it back to work, where, since I am impatient and couldn't wait till I got home, I had to try it in the bathroom.
Reading the packaging, I noticed that it has SPF 18 and Goji Berry extract, which is a super antioxidant to protect against free radical damage.  The product itself has a sponge-tipped applicator, which you are actually supposed to roll onto your face.  I was expecting to have to rub it in with my hands too, but surprisingly, the super-soft sponge did a fantastic job- I only had to rub a little around my eyes and jawline.
I am hooked on this stuff...with every swipe of the sponge, imperfections just melted away.  It was awesome.  Unlike regular foundation, this stuff is weightless, almost disappearing into your skin right away,  rather than sitting on top.  The Eraser is the perfect name for this product, because I literally felt like I was erasing things...I just rubbed the sponge over red splotches...and they were gone!  Same with dark circles...amazing.  You MUST try this stuff.  FYI, those of you with very oily skin may not like it as much...it definitely adds moisture. (But my dry skin loves that!).

  1. I am going to buy this, based on your recommendation. But I have a question- do you think the sponge will harbor bacteria after a while? The thought skeeves me out a little.

  2. You know, I hadn't thought of that! That shocks me, because I am usually a germaphobe! I checked into it, and Maybelline says that it has millions of tiny antimicrobial fibers inside the sponge-tipped applicator. Only time will tell how quickly it will start getting gross, but hopefully, it will stave off bacteria growth for a while!
