bh Cosmetics Floral Blush Duo Review & Swatches

I recently picked up two of the new bh Cosmetics Floral Blush Duo Cheek Color ($5.50 each) and since this is my first blush purchase from them I wasn't sure what to expect. If I'm being totally honest, I wanted them mostly for the cute flowery design stamped into the pan but as it turns out, the formula is really amazing!

Let's take a closer look...

Each Floral Blush comes in a slim & sturdy cardboard compact with a magnetic closure and a mirror. The packaging actually reminds me a lot of The Balm's blushes (except these don't have the additional sleeve that goes over them)...I'm impressed!

There are four shades available:

• Caribbean Coral (shown in this post)
• Honolulu Hideaway (shown in this post)
• Fiji Fun
• Bahama Bronze

Each pan has two different shades in it so there are really three different ways to wear these. You can dip your brush in the deeper shade alone, or just into the lighter shade, or you can swirl them both together to make a completely new shade.
The pans are large enough that you can isolate one color if you want to...as long as your blush brush isn't too big and fluffy. I personally use the e.l.f. Blush Brush ($3 at Target) most of the time and it's a good size for using with these blushes.

Shades/Swatches: 

Here's a closer look at the Caribbean Coral. It has a deeper pink shade on one side and a peachy shade around the edge and when you mix them together it makes the prettiest coral! It doesn't go on perfectly matte but it doesn't have visible shimmer in it either...it's more of a satin finish.

Next is Honolulu Hideaway, which features a deeper mauve-pink shade and a lighter pink shade. Mixed together, the two shades create a pop of bright pink. There is a very fine shimmer in this one but it's not what I'd consider to be glittery. On the cheeks it gives just a slight sheen.

I wasn't expecting the formula to feel quite so buttery and soft...it's almost creamy! The pigmentation amazing too, so if you're fair skinned like I am, I recommend using a light hand at first and building if you need to. Deeper skin tones will definitely appreciate how well these show up on the skin without a lot of effort. Also, please keep in mind that my swatches are finger swatches so they went on a lot heavier than they would if you're using a brush.

I posted swatches of these last night on my Instagram page and one person commented that she has the Fiji Fun shade and it's a bit glittery. When I went on the bh website and looked at the photos, the Fiji shade does seem to show more shimmer than these do, so if you're not a fan of shimmery blushes, I would recommend staying away from that one (or if you do like shimmer then that's your shade!).

Overall, these were a fun little purchase and I'm so happy I bought them! They're more than worth the $5.50 I spent on them. :)
