Milton Lloyd World Class Fragrances Review

Recently, I had the opportunity to review some fragrances from Milton Lloyd, a perfumer from the U.K that has recently opened a U.S. site.

First, a little background...Milton Lloyd World Class Fragrances has been around since 1975 and have been crafting exceptional quality, affordable perfumes in England. They have always focused on purchasing the highest quality oils and ingredients to give you long-lasting fragrances. They prefer to invest in the fragrance itself, rather than expensive packaging or advertising (they don't spend money on advertising, they rely on word of mouth from customers).

These fragrances are an amazing value at only $10 for 50ml (1.7oz)! During this review, you'll see me comparing these perfumes to designer ones, but these are not cheap knock-offs or exact copies of the original. They are similar to some well known scents, and some of the names gave me a hint as to what famous perfumes they are similar to. So if you like a certain designer fragrance I mention, chances are you'll also like the Milton Lloyd version, even if it's not exactly the same.

Packaging:
All of the fragrances I received came in their own box, while two of them actually came in a hard plastic case. The bottles are made of glass with metal caps and the sprayers are the kind that will keep spraying if you hold it down (like a body spray). I actually love that kind of spray because I like to mist perfume into the air around me and walk into it and the continuous spray makes it easy! These are definitely stronger than body sprays though, so keep that in mind!

Scents:

The first scent I received is from their popular Colour Me line. It's called Colour Me Gold Femme ($10, 1.7oz). It's classified as a fruity oriental and it reminds me quite a bit of Paco Rabanne's Lady Million.
Top Notes: Sparkling Citrus, Neroli, Raspberry
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Lily, and Rose
Bottom Notes: Honey, Warm Patchouli Woods, Musks

Next is Colour Me Red ($10, 1.7oz). This is a strong scent, described as a chypre woody floral. It's a more sophisticated evening scent that reminds me of Gucci Rush in many ways.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Peony, Freesia
Middle Notes: Red Fruits, Violet, Jasmine, Carnation
Bottom Notes: Orris, Sandalwood, Vetiver
Colour Me Pink ($10, 1.7oz.) is one of my favorites in the box they sent me. It's soft, feminine and floral, yet has some warmth and sweetness in the drydown.  It reminds me a little bit of Tresor by Lancome.
Top Notes: White Rose Petals, Almond Blossom
Middle Notes: Geranium, Heliotrope, Lillies
Bottom Notes: Vanilla, Musks
Colour Me Purple ($10 for 1.7 oz.) is a watery-floral that smells elegant and modern.  This is the only fragrance that I really couldn't think of a pairing for, although it does smell like something to me, I just can't think of what it is.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Watermelon
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Rose, Violet
Bottom Notes: Oakmoss, Amber, Patchouli Woods
Loves Me, Loves Me Not ($10 for 1.7 oz) is another favorite of mine.  It's clean and fresh with a hint of warmth and sweetness.  It reminds me a lot of Marc Jacobs' Daisy, which I also love.  This scent is described as floral, green, and fruity.
Top Notes: Wild Strawberry, Violet Leaves, Ruby Red Grapefruit
Middle Notes: Violet, Jasmine, Gardenia
Bottom Notes: Vanilla, Musk, White Woods
Miss Tutu ($10 for 1.7 oz.) is a lovely, modern Chypre-floral scent that is reminiscent of Coco Mademoiselle. This would be a great scent to wear to the office during the day.  It's clean and fresh, yet feminine.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Muguet, Water Fruits
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Red Rose, Vetiver
Bottom Notes: Amber, Patchouli, Creamy Vanilla
Summer Flowers ($10 for 1.7 oz.) is a fresh, green, woody floral that's a perfect Spring and Summer scent.  To me, it kind of smells like Kenzo Flower
Top Notes: Violet, Mandarin, Pepper
Middle Notes: Lily of the Valley, Lilac, Violet
Bottom Notes: Musk, Cedar
Spirit of Heaven Men ($10 for 1.7 oz.).  This is a rich, warm scent that's perfect for the Fall and Winter seasons.  It reminds me of Angel for Men a lot.  This scent has so much staying power, I sprayed it into my bedroom when I first got it so that I could see what it smelled like and hours later, when I walked into my room, I could still smell it!  It's a gorgeous scent, especially if you like gourmands.
Top Notes: Green Pine
Middle Notes: Warm, Spicy Caramel
Bottom Notes: Vanilla, Musk, Woods
Overall, I am so impressed by Milton Lloyd's World Class Fragrances!  They have such amazing longevity that when I wore each scent, it stayed on my skin until I went to bed.  Of course it changes throughout the day as the bottom notes come out, but that's normal.  I have owned many fragrances both inexpensive and high end that I couldn't smell at all after a few hours, so these are really high quality, especially for $10!
If you're in the market for a new fragrance, definitely check them out...they have a ton of perfumes on their new US website! I plan to go back and choose a few more of my own.
